I was visiting my mum in the hospital yesterday when I noticed a patient sitting in the ward waiting area puffing on a cig-a-like. I can only assume he was doing it with the blessing of the staff as he was in full view of the nurses station.
My purpose for posting is that if this is allowed in a coronary care ward of a hospital surely Vaping should be allowed everywhere? I've already had analogue smokers ask me what I'm doing in the smoking area outside bars when I've been too self conscious to vape inside. It seems to me that the general public are starting to gain enough understanding of Vaping that it will soon become acceptable everywhere - Here's hoping!!!

I think it's more a case of being at the discretion of the people in charge at the moment. The ones who seem to understand that we aren't posing any threat will be the gateway I think.
They are the ones that will probably pass to the next person in charge that there was no smell etc and it's not smoke.

last time I took Mrs G-J for a checkup, I sat in the reception/waiting area of the day-case unit of our local hospital, book in one hand, eGo+clearo in the other (it takes a couple of hours). None of the nurses, receptionists, etc. even gave me a second glance as I vaped away. HOWEVER, it's still a case of "their house, their rules" and I would have taken it outside if asked..... be pleasant, explain to people by all means what you're doing, but don't get their backs up for the sake of it

Well said gunjack. Something I do is vape subtly until told otherwise, just be aware of other people's feelings.

IF we get through the next few months, then things are going to change big-time over the next few years. However, the way I see it, vaping will not necessarily become a free for all. I guess we need to strike the balance between doing what's good for vapers and not encouraging people to take up nicotine from scratch. These things are going to take some time and thought. Certainly, more vaping in public and normalisation of e-cigs has got to be good.

good use of "normalisation" there djs, excellent counteraction to the "anti" brigade and their "denormalising", "renormalising" or whatever

Sons girlfriend is a nurse working in a Hudderfield hospital, she says that patients are allowed to vape in their beds. Surgeons and doctors dont mind and the pharmacy dishes them out. Also allowed at Rotherham hospital so I've been told

I had a few stealthy puffs today in the Costa coffee at the North Staffs Royal Infirmary. Then I was outside on my phone vaping away and some woman asked me for a light! Ha ha ha

and the pharmacy dishes them out. I'm surprised at that Gj, I wonder what make of e-cigs they're giving out?

^^ was thinking that....perhaps they've finally sussed that a cheapie disposable cig-a-like is far more effective and cheaper than their over-priced and useless patches

Ha ha ha The times I've been asked for a light by customers when outside in the smoking area. When you tell them NO, and I DON'T smoke, the look on their faces is hilarious.

I was in a hospital theatre a few months ago having cameras put into various orifices lol. I took my e-cig in with me and because I had sedation I believe I was telling two doctors and one nurse all about e-cigs, even showed um how to fill um, even though I was sedated the e-cig never left my hand lolol
