Hi all.
I was smoking rollies pretty heavy - 100g per week - Drum/GVirginia. A "Groupon" deal for a Skycig starter kit turned my attention to this ecig/vaping. I started on the Skycigs eleven days ago, not had a "rollie" since.
I purchased some flavoured juice and refilled some of the Skycig cartomisers, I was really successful at this, however I went from the 12mg nicotine strength - which wasnt strong enough for me - to 26mg - this I found much more satisfying, however after two days of vaping this I started getting dizzyness hits - so Im kinda worried Ive overstepped the mark. I also am finding I seem to "vape" much more than I smoked; ie I am almost constantly vaping.
Other than that I quickly discovered that the batteries on the skycigs, although functional are pretty short lived. I ordered two more - I kinda like the size and portability aspect of the Skycig system and I envisage continuing with it for when I'm out and about. I have also after reading a lot of advice on this forum just ordered a Riva 1100mah kit which I hope will enhance my vaping experience. I have a bit of a chemistry background as well, so it appealed to me to buy various juices and flavourings to do my own mixing.
I just want to curb this dizzy feeling just now so I guess I need to explore different nicotine levels as well as flavours.

Hi Andy 18mg may be a better nic level for you, experimentation is the only way to find out.

Hello & welcome to AAE-C, Andy3000. Enjoy trying out different flavours & it does sound like you could do with finding the middle ground in nic mgs. As Gunbunny said, 18mg might be the one for you.

Welcome Andy. I can't see how 26mg would normally be much of a problem, but from the sounds of it you are vaping loads! I still vape 24mg from time to time (especially first thing) and that was after 15 years of 15 roll-ups (ave) a day. It does make me less than ecstatic to discover yet another skycig "groupon" deal. I suspect you'll love the Riva and soon enough get into mixing your own liquid etc. Congratulations on being the special no.3000. I expect you will soon even out a bit on the vaping. It is a bit of a leap of faith at first, I certainly remember going from 10-12 fags on a good day to about a vape or two an hour. Early days, 30 vapes over 16 hours was easily done.... If I was a betting man, I'd expect you to calm down quick with a Riva. My E-Lites never left my mouth, but in hindsight, that's not really a surprise as they produce such a pathetic amount of vapour. One rollie would give me 1+mg of nicotine. I can't see how getting that out of a mini e-cig can possibly happen without chain-vaping the bloody thing. Lots to learn, lots to look forward to. Enjoy.

Welcome Andy. I'd think 18mg sounds more like your level. If you've still got some 12mg try mixing with the 26mg - 50/50 would be close enough.
Finding your right juice can be a bit of a journey, particularly as your tastes change when you give up fags, but it is well worth it.
Because you have a new intake process to learn, you may sometimes get more nicotine than you need until you get used to it. Drinking plenty of water helps.

Drinking plenty of water helps. Yes. Drink....lots. I could never smoke without a drink, and yet I can vape these days (most liquids) without extra imbibing. It's taken me a long time to get used to it though. I do drink a lot regardless.

Welcome Andy
I've been off the smokes for a couple of months and went through the same thing.
The one thing about cigarettes that I've not been able to copy is the consistency of hit.
There are so many variables in vaping that it does take a considerable amount of experimentation to find out what works for you.
This is what I've learned so far - Adapt your draw technique - I definitely struggled for the first few weeks as I was trying to vape my Jacvapour e-cig exactly the same way I smoked my drum rollies. By slowing down and letting the vapour do it's thing I slowly started to enjoy vaping. - I coughed up a lung the first time I hastily screwed on a 18mg tobacco cartomizer - Not only did it taste foul (And nothing like a cigarette) it was also too strong for me (Dizzy/headaches etc) - Fortunately I ordered some empty cartomizers and flavours some PG based and some VG based. I loaded one up with 12mg PG Cherry and I've not looked back. - I've also discovered that there is a whole vaping world to explore - Mods, juices and rebuildables.
Take heart you've done the hardest part and knocked the roll-ups on the head
It doesn't take too long to find a reasonably good vape and once the dizzyness stops I'm sure you'll find that vaping can be a rewarding hobby and not a life threatening habit like the alternative.
