I agree that it is an interesting factual study, the problem is that once the likes of the Daily Fail get hold of it they will have a bloody field day

Ive just taken apart my e-lite tip. There is a small amount of brown on the wadding, then a small amount of other material. Not sure what is is, like a thin plaster I suppose, not the plastic part, which is very brown. The wick is black where it enters the mouth piece. But no green. Again this has been used but only once, and looking at it I wouldnt want to refill it... Any soldering in there matt1988 ? Yeh there is, an earth wire connecting to the base of the atty, and the live going from the top of the atty under webbing. There are also crimps in there that connect the thin wire that heats up from the plastic cased cable. I cant tell what the heated wire is made out of, and the crimps are very suspiciously gold. I will update with pics in a bit if that helps lol.

These aren't amazing, only taken from my phone, not sure if your able to see the soldering or crimps in the pictures... You can see the crimps but not the soldering very well. There is another small matting sleeve that goes over the lower part of the atty.

Just taken apart another one, looks far far cleaner than the one I posted. But I seem to think I used this one more. I don't know what that means, although the first on I took apart after refilling didnt work properly. So maybe burned out who knows

I didnt use this one much, was just one of my speculative purchses lol, didnt like the vape. Loads of solder there, also the red wire soldered at the back of the connector. Unplated copper or brass centre post, and brass crimps, none of it good I have no idea what make this was, nothing on it at all to identify it.............................can you blame them? lol

Here's the second, all I have done with this one is pull off the wadding and extra bit of whatever, and pulled the wick out slightly to compare the 'burntness'.

It was a cheapy matt, the wadding etc is pretty clean, there was no wick in the coil, just picked up liguid from the wadding by the look of it.

Ahh ok, well atleast e-lites can say their products are pretty well made, even if the cartos are not the equivalent to 40 traditional cigarettes.

robby,I'm not familiar with carto's, in your picture is that big blob of solder in contact with the juice? Yeh it is, although behind the wadding and matting. So maybe the matting will keep out the liquid, although I'm not confident it will. edit: looking at the pictures again, looks like the solder is not covered by anything apart from the wadding that will have been wrapped around it. So yes the solder will have been in direct contact with the liquid.
