6 months.... 6 Agonising months it took for a so called 'Rapid lung diagnosis' to reach its conclusion. Finally, after all the 'could be cancer' speeches from various Doctor's, Consultants and the like, they have finally decided that after 4 x-rays, 2 CT scans, 1 Bronchoscopy and 1 lung biopsy, I have been finally declared cancer free. Oh, my god, have I experienced some challenging NHS moments. But the good news finally broke... And I STILL am off the fags! Thats really good news, shame it took so long but at least you now have the answer. I have not really coughed anything up since I started vaping. I think it is a little strange as I used to smoke 30 a day. Good knows where all the tar and crap is Lungs are self cleaning, good job too cos if they weren't we wouldn't survive our first month on this planet, even if you live in a nice healthy rural area there are still more then enough air borne contaminates that we breathe in. When we go to sleep at night it's the maintenance crews chance to clean them out, tiny cilia work like microscopic road sweepers getting rid of the crap & pushing it back into the throat were you either swallow it or cough it out. Obviously when we smoked we were depositing more crap then normal in our lungs which is why most smokers tended to have a more predominate morning cough. & as for the pictures of the good old 'smokers lung' that we all know so well, do THESE look familiar Re the black stuff in the mouth it's more likely to be blood, probably from the gums, not totally unusual specially if your susceptible to dry mouth at night, even just discoloured phelgm when you wake up is likely to be from the same thing. Unless there is a pre-exsisting or potential lung condition my first port of call would be a good dentist. But it's nice to have a update from johnny10hands that you've finally had the all clear

Having read through this post from start to finish I was going to say bleeding gums also ... I've had a few days where this happened to me and I have heard , albeit anecdotally , of it affecting others ... I've not read of this being an issue before ..
