Hello.
New member here. I just bought the e-lites deal off Groupon to see what e-cigs are like.
Read a few conflicting reports on how long the catridges etc last, and I was wondering how much people are spending on their e-cig habit.
Thanks

The easy answer is that e-smoking CAN be massively cheaper than smoking traditional cigarettes. It all depends on what you buy and how you use it. But, don't be fooled by the often inflated claims of 13 fags worth in a cartridge - it's rarely true, and by far the most cost-effective way of keeping going with carts is to use e-juice rather than buy new carts, and keep your carts filled that way...

e-lites only seem to sell cartridges, can I buy refills elsewhere, or will I have to start again with a new bit of kit?

Hi Redcard, what I would say is that although the e-lites will give you some idea about vaping and if you will like it, they're not going to keep you going long term.
Myself and a few others started with something similar, personally I only used them for a week until I got myself a decent set up.
The battery life on your e-lite will be very short, meaning you'll have to keep charging your unit regularly. Whereas something like a Riva or Tornado will last several hours between charges.
As for costs it's hard to say, it will depend on a number of factors.

Hello & welcome Redcard The e-cig you bought is a super-mini & yes you can refill the carts with e-liquid from any of the suppliers. A couple of my favourite e-liquid suppliers are - Paradise Vapes www.paradisevapeuk.com/And freedomvapes (Code JUICE10 to get 10% off E-liquids and Atomisers) www.freedomvape.co.uk/

Thanks for the info everyone, maybe I should have done some research before jumping into the Groupon offer, but it seemed a good deal at the time.
Say I have £100 to spend, can you give me a shopping list for decent kit?

Eek... 2x1000mAH Tornado or eGo batteries (get 'em in a kit), 5xTornado or eGo mega tank atties, 5xTanks for them, and then, juice-wise, for cost-effectiveness, look at vapourworld.co.uk, uk-eliquid, vapeescapes and others around these parts - there are some very, very inexpensive juice vendors around at the mo.
An example I've often given:
I was a 60 a day, off-the-shelf man. Current cost is around £7.40 a pack, so that's more or less £22 a day. A week's worth would now cost me roughly £160.
For two week's worth of fags, I could happily buy a high-end mod (let's say a fully tricked out GGTS/UFS), half a litre of RY4 and enough batteries and atomisers to get me through till the juice was done and beyond - and that would last me around two months. After that, it's just the juice and atomisers. And at £80 a half litre, it's hardly even worth doing the sums for the per day cost - you'd spend way more on a pint of Diet Coke in a pub these days!

No, I'm afraid it wasn't that good a deal Red If you check out the Freedomvape link in my previous post you will see that Kev is selling super-mini starter kits with 2 batteries & 2 atomisers for only £13.95. But as for a shopping list for a better kit I would go for - Riva 510 Special edition from Liberty Flights @ £33.99 less 15% off with code ECR 69 www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=781 x 510 LR attie to see if you like them @ £6.29 & aagain 15% off with the above code www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=695x5ml bottles of different flavoured e-liquid from Paradise vapes @ £3 each = £15.00 paradisevapeuk.vstore.ca/index.php/cName/ejuiceJust the above would get you set up & going, but I'm sure others will think of more

Redcard. Hello.
I'm saving about half of the money i spent on cigarettes (rolling tobacco papers and filters actually).
But i'm not into to it too madly. I'm taking my time and getting into it steadily.
£100 will get you a fabulous kit. I don't think you need to spend that much. If i were you i'd go for a "banker" kit first. By banker i mean one that will do as it says on the tin that you can fall back on if your fancy one needs a part or something. A riva 510 will set you back £30 approx it comes with two batteries. Each one will last you a day. Some liquid for £6 and you got £64 to spend when you have more idea(after coming on here and chatting and asking) of what "special" you want.
Simples....lol

Thanks again for the info.
So I buy the Riva 510 for £30ish, comes with 2 batteries and 2 atomisers.
Do I then only have to replace the atomiser every couple of months, and there's no other outlay? (apart from the liquid obviously)

Red, the atomisers are the tricky part re how long they last - piece of string comes to mind They are the weakest link & can last from just a few days to a month or more. On avaerage say 2 weeks of heavy use. The batteries will last you several months before needing to be replaced. The e-liquid will depend on how much you normally smoke - on average (unless you are called Hifistud ) most folks get through about 2ml's a day.
