Yeh very biased by a doctor and saying it is as unsettling as getting patients to smoke before they new the health problems. The study he quoted was the one posted on here about cartos wasnt it? Which we said was very biased and the a writer is very much against nicotine! But he is right in saying the long term health problems are unknown. But surely it can't be as bad as tobacco

But surely it can't be as bad as tobacco That's what I think! If it wasn't for vaping I'd still be smoking and smoking has been proven to kill you! Although life kills you at some point anyway ??? not that I've read any scientific studies to back that up

Are they being targeted at the young, says who?
I think this is some assumption about flavoured e-liquid. A young person will presumably have a much harder time getting an e-cig than a real cig, because i don't see kids giving away a complete ego (pinched from Dad) to a friend.
and, if a kid was to puff on one, it wouldn't be the same overpowering, limb-collapsing, dizzy-making feeling of puffing on a JPS would it?
Anyway, where are the TSNA's in my e-liquid. I thought TSNAs were "tobacco specific" - so where's the tobacco?
I also don't enjoy being labelled a hardened smoker...I always saw myself as a nicotine addict, that's what nicotine does, and my government allowed me to buy it.
Anyway, I am very glad to see mainstream press getting involved, even with rather negative reporting. What's important long-term is that people understand this (vaping) is becoming more and more popular, and an instant ban on 4mg+ liquid will mean a return to smoking for 1,000s.

I agree fully djs but those 1, 000's are more like 1,000,000's.
Yes we don't know 100% of the long term effects or what the ingredients do when heated up, but what we do know is that its better than the 4,000 chemicals in smokes, and half of those chemicals we don't fully know what they are!
But these things are widely available, legal and the governments want to sell them, just don't like the added strain on the health sectors FACT!

Thank goodness there are some common sense comments being made! Yes indeed, where can you get hash oil from?

Well done. I approve of the no-nonsense (read hard-hitting) riposte you have written. One comment that particularly upset me was this one "They identified trace levels of tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNAs) – cancer-causing compounds commonly found in traditional cigarettes, " Either ALL nicotine contains these, or it doesn't. If my e-liquid (which has no tobacco in it) contains it, then so do patches and inhalers from the NRT products. Trace levels - does that mean "worrying" levels or safe as Celery or Papaya?

Isn`t it funny how all newspapers seem to turn into the Sun when an ecig is mentioned?

There are trace levels of TSNA's in e-cig vapour, the same is there is in NRT - the levels are so low that they cannot be measured and are so low that they are considered to have no effect on human health.

That's what I thought. In that case, using the issue of trace TSNAs to include the word "cancer-causing" is a cheap shot, is it not?
