So I have 3 different types of clearos now and all of them occasionally (every day a few times) gob liquid down into the battery connection. I now suspect that it is because I keep my e-cig on a lanyard round my neck from the moment I get up, til i go to bed. It is then either jammed in my waistcoat pocket, or down inside said waistcoat (as I am a dickensian fop). Therefore it has to be the body heat generated around it, particularly when I very often sit with my arms folded, due to it being bloody cold at the moment. Since I am unwilling to change any of these hard facts about my lifestyle, I shall probably just have to accept that 3 times a day I will have to take the thing apart and clean it out with a bit of tissue. Pain in the proverbial, but probably my only option now. Hey ho.

Dave it shouldn't be body heat, after all the coil gets a lot hotter than even your waistcoated body The thing with these type of rebuildables is that there's only 3 ways juice can get into the centre tube (other than obviously by accidentally dripping juice down there as you fill). The first is at the point where the atty head screws onto the centre tube. Check the O ring and make sure it's screwed on tight. The top cap can sometimes catch on the atty head and unscrew the atty a bit as you remove the head, so check that the head is tight each time you take the top cap off. The second is at the point where the top cap presses down on the atty head to make a seal, check that the top cap is screwed on tight. The third is at the point where the wicks exit the centre tube. Check that the little silicone 'top hat' is seated firmly on top of the head to minimise this gap I hope this helps

Ummmm! don't think that's the answer to the leaks at all... mine all leak as well and I don't keep them on a lanyard nor down the front of my waistcoat (tweed...Victorian type me!)However I do have them in my hands at all times. Sorry if that puts a spoke in your wheel

I have found with my innokin i30 that if i vape it a lot all at once the iclear gets super hot and starts leaking. Stop and let it cool down and it is fine. Now just vape it in little bursts.
Im guessing that the o rings warp when they get hot causing leakage.
Not the same clearo but maybe the same thing happening to yours if you vape a lot.

Well mine leak on the lanyard, the Bauway CE4's & they only leak on the lanyard, at no other time do I have a problem. The other day, it finished off my Twist, so I've stopped using the lanyard now. I'm gutted.

I've found clearos leak more when stored upright, juice travels up the wick to the coils and then gravity takes care of the rest.

Tends to get leaky in there while I'm at work, and I can sit there for a good 5 or 6 hours without touching it (since I stopped smoking while at work a few years ago, so the craving doesn't hit me there). Anyhow, have just done my first rewicking on a T3, using bits of cotton wool (read somewhere about it, and it turned out to be really easy) and hoping that it'll hold up.

My novas hardly ever leak. Maybe once/month if that. I think that when one does it's cos I dropped it or over-filled it. I don't throw it, just take it apart, make sure everything is straight and put it together again.
There'll be one I'm using most of the day, and 4 or 5 with different juices waiting patiently (sometimes for days).
I keep all of them more or less upright, don't fill them right up - maybe that's why. Maybe they are just good ones (all from vapeescape, though I'm not that loyal to them about anything else).

You also get condensation in the central tube that will leave a drop or two in the battery connector, I just wipe mine out regularly.

Hi Dave, I think you have a valid point about body heat affecting the leaking rate. When the e liquid gets warm, it does flow easier. If it flows easier, it is going to wick better. At the coil end it will run easier and maybe get to the point where it will actually drip off the coil and surrounding wick or simply run down the inside of the centre tube where the wicking sits on it. Gravity will then take over and it will run down the inside of the tube and dump itself all round your connector. A possible option would be to increase the VG in your juice as it is thicker and less likely to "run" as easily. Just a thought Dave

I too use a lanyard with all my eGo type batteries.
However I let it hang free and do not tuck it into pockets etc so whether I am bending over or just walking about, it is always hanging in the same position.
Yes I get condensation leaking onto the battery connection but as I check and wipe my connections each time I change the clearo/carto etc, it never has become a problem.
Hopefully by the time my eGos go phutt, someone will come up with a universal lanyard pouch for the Vamo/Zmax/TZmax that will allow me to use these on a lanyard also.
One thing I have sussed from reading numerous topics on leaking Clearos, is that those who buy their clearos from known and trusted Vendors, have the least amount of problems. You may have to spend a few pence more per unit, but these pennies will save you a mountain of trouble in the long run.

I'm thinking the voltage or wattage have an effect here, the higher they are the more juice get's vapourised, so it's less likely to have any excess?
