Hi everyone,
My Vamo finally came a few days ago from VaporBreak and I was really pleased until today.
It's getting very hot at the top of the battery, to the lower left of the firing button after a 4 or 5 seconds of vaping.
I have tried changing the battery, trying another atomiser (resistance seems to be reading normal), tried cleaning the connectors between battery and atomiser in case of any leak (with isopropyl).
If I remove the atomisers the Vamo doesn't get hot, even with the button pressed.
My precious new shiny has never been bumped, never mind dropped.
All three recommended Panansonic 18650 batteries I have tried are not hot when removed.
I use it MODE2 in watts at around 6watts
Stumped now. Worse still, I'm back to my 4 squid ego battery lol.

Its more likely to be the spring. I bought a ss end cap from Vapes Escape and it sorted the problem out
VAMO Spare Battery Cap from VapeEscape.co.uk MODS & Advanced > Ego VV/VW VAMO Our Price From: £2.99: Chrome £2.99 Black Chrome £2.99 Stainless Steel £2.99 Spare battery end cap for the Ego VV VAMO with the latest upgraded spring. Code: VE474.
Hope it helps.

Has it got a ss spring, if it has that's the reason, you can buy the bigger, copper i believe spring for a couple of quid and that should solve the issue.

Thanks for the reply Punisher.
Testing in progress.........
Yep, getting just as hot with the recommended 18350 Panasonic battery inserted.
The spring is gold and I get no battery rattle at all, and VaporBreak say it's the new type of spring (from their webpage anyway).
The vamo is the stainless steel one with the oh-so-lovely button rattle.

Not sure it's the spring. I have been using it solidly for over 2 days. And I do mean a lot as I purchased some Griz arctic lemon. Jeebus, that's some nice stuff!!

Mine does it with the Igo dripper but its just heat transference through the brass tubbing from the stainless steel kettle.
What top system have you got on it ?

Was yours gold in colour? I just don't get why it would run perfectly for 2 days then suddenly it's getting hot enough to fry an egg (just below and to left of firing button, nowhere else). If it was the spring, I thought I would have come across the issue immediately.

I have tried the Viva Nova, a vision nano and a standard oxo. Mine dont get warm with the ce4, I cant really say what it could be Ive to use a metal connector to get the ce4 to fit mine, its gives a bit of insulation I suppose. I was a little worried a while back, but its a good hand warmer I had a spell of whipping the battery out quick to see if it was hot but it hasn't been. Now Ive seen this thread Ill be back to whiping it out again just as I got used to the heat, Id be concerned a lot more if it was getting hot with a the ce4

Many thanks for the replies!
I have contacted them to see what they have to say. Will update this thread for future reference if I get closure.
Cheers.
Steve.

I remember a company i used to work for who bought a brand of locks from a company in China, when they used to visit us they always had a deal, it was as follows: Option 1:You can have 2,000 locks for £5.00 each (Quality Controlled Tested) Or Option 2:You can have 2,000 locks for £3.50 each (Not Quality Controlled Tested and can come with risks) I wonder if Vaporbreak chose option 2 My motto is if something is to cheap there is a reason, but that's just me, always paranoid

Hahaha Romelee. A great example of false economy. Fortunately I didn't opt for non QC on this occassion, ish If they did then it's not really my problem, just a delay in receiving a working product.
