As others have said, bin the made up wicks that come with it, this morning I made my own, doubled up the silica under the .02 coil, 4 wraps comes out at 1.6 ohms. The improvement is very noticeable. I was never that impressed with other silica wick atomizers, but really likeing the Dream, fancy a Spheroid now but wonder if it worth the extra dosh?

I think the thing about "diminishing returns" is kicking in when you get to that kind of level. I dont have a spheroid, the only improvement I can imagine is a warmer vape over a Dream, using mine now, like a bleedin sauna in this kitchen

You`ll know from my previous posts, that in my opinion the "Spheroid", is without doubt in the top 3 listings of `silica` based atty`s. Really easy to set up, fantastic flavour along with good vapour. Compact, all stainless construction, and once assembled you could drop it from a high rise block of flats, and it would still be in perfect working order. Also great for out and about, along with stealth. Look at the classies on UKV, you could pick one up for around £70.00. Brand new visit.http://www.vapourart.com/en/product/gp-spheroid-version-2 If you can afford it "BUY IT". Hope this helps. jeffc

Faff-free, no leaks, large-ish capacity, great flavour, looks good, well machined, superb flavour, immense TH. If you can coil a wick, you can setup a Spheroid in minutes. I like the Dream, a great device for the money, but then so is the Spheroid. 70 quid is in my opinion money well spent unlike what you can spend on a lot of other devices. EDITED to add that my Dream now needs it's wick changing and has half a tank in it in the extended version ... this is going to be messy ... no issue doing this with the Spheroid

My only concern with the Spheroid is taste from the filler material, its why I don't like carto's. I just like the 'clean' flavour from using silica on its own.

You don't get any of that filler taste ... plus you have a choice of filler material which if concerned can be pre-washed. In fact, the flavour on the Spheroid is one of it's plus points In fact the filler taste you get from a carto is probably the filler being heated since the coil sits within it. The Spheroid uses the filler only to suspend the juice and drip it onto the wick. The key in the Spheroid is probably the airflow design

Hi Monomach. The filler in the spheroid "NEVER" comes into contact with the coil, it is there only to allow the juice to be soaked / feed into the silica wick. Therefore not subjected to "HEAT" coil burning as is all the filler materials in `carto`s, hence the `nasty taste` one gets with its usage. That`s why Spheroid are in such demand worldwide, by vapers who want "PURE" flavour of their juices. See if someone locally to you or at a vapemeet will let you try one. Once tried all your doubts will be gone. Hope this helps in your decision. jeffc

Do still like the look of the Ithaka, but 135euros...
