Whilst browsing the net I came across people whom swear by "nuke" steeping - that is putting your mix in the microwave for a few seconds. I didnt particularly read into it much but tonight I was playing with a Coffee/Chocolate/Coconut mix and thought why not - lets have a "nuke". Disaster first mistake was I left it in plastic bottle, second mistake was "a few seconds in the microwave" - my juice was boiling out the top of the bottle . When I reached in to save my creation the bottle was soft and squidgy. Left it to cool down -not holding out any hope for it now... Has anyone else tried this "nuke" method with any form of results?

nope. I "warmed" up some ethyl maltol mix for 10 secs in my microwave ... melted the bottle and the EM had a burnt taste. Suggest no one uses microwave steeping

A couple of seconds at most I've done on the odd occasion with eliquid Andy . . . can't say it's had any significant result.
What I do find helps a bit is some base heat, I've a combi micro, so if I've used it on convection then I put any steeping bottles on the warm top until it cools down.
Other than that, I'd rather let my mixes steep naturally.

The three best methods for steeping are: 1) wait 2) patience 3) wait some more

Andy when I was mixing the other day I was knocking up some ethyl maltol, stuck it in the microwave and set the timer for two minutes thinking I was doing something else, only realising 30 seconds later my mistake. I dashed to open the microwave door to see that the bottle had shrunk that was only suitable for the borrowers (family movie).
Never done it with mixers so good luck in salvaging it. get yourself a ultrasonic cleaner. its good for steeping.

It's a good way to dissolve menthol crystals in a mix, but only 2-3 secs at a time

I always just pop the bottle in some warm water or on top of the radiator

DV doppio espresso caffeinated needs a few secs in the microwave to turn it from a pale and murky thing you don't fancy to a nice clear brown colour.

Just a thought - do we know what material the dropper bottles are made from? A lot of 'plastic' material is not suitable for microwave use, as carcinogens & such, can leech from the plastic. Glass, I suppose, would be a different matter. I shall be a firm follower of OneDay's 3 step process up there ^^^ 1.Wait 2.Wait 3.Wait

Had a look at my "creation" today - the liquid has completely lost its viscousity, after a quick vape - yes chocolatey coconutty flavour. That tells me Im on the right track with my mix. However Ive binned the lot 10mls including the bottle. I am convinced that there may have been interaction between the plastic and the fluid and even if there wasnt I will never feel comfortable vaping it.
