The ultrasonic cleaner arrived today so, having done the honours with the family silver and various other bits and pieces, I have finally been able to wrest control of it. I have got some mixes I made a couple of days ago steeping in it, going to give them four 15 minute cycles then let them stand for 24 hours before sampling.
Btw, very impressed with the way the silver cleaned up, think I'll dig out all my old and clogged up Rotring pens and see how they do in there.

If it was me i would do 2x15mins cycles and leave for 20mins and do another 2x15mins and put them in a dark place overnight and then repeat next day 2x15mins cycles and leave for 20mins and do another 2x15mins. 1 hour does seem a bit short, but you never know it might be fine

Going the let them stand for 10 mins between cycles. I'll take your advice about doing the same tomorrow.

Took the mixes out of the ultrasonic and already there is a noticable change in colour, took the lids off the jars they are in to put them in my steeping drawer and had an aromagasm, they smell bloody great, even if I say so myself. Hope to God they taste as good as they smell.

The steeping success with the cleaner is brill. Definitely worth the money. You have to post your recipes if the juices are good Gasper. I mean post on here or post to me lol.

I have found that my ultrasonic cleaner doesn't achieve much in the way of steeping. What it is brilliant though, is mixing, particularly gloopy VG. Also some concentrates, even if it is added before PG/VG, seem to float to the top - the Ultrasonic cleaner seems to deal with this really well. I tend to put several bottles in at once and tie them together with an elastic band to stop them falling over. I also tighten the caps quite firmly.
Steeping only really works when concentrate and base are well mixed together and my ultrasonic cleaner can help with this.
