Well, well..........My housemate has just returned from the vets accompanied by Shufee...........The vet examined him & told my housemate that a brand new drug has just come onto the market that they have prescribed for him......It's not going to cure his cancer obviously, but it's a pain killer that is applied to the back of his neck & lasts for 3 days at a time.......he should be with us for a few months longer....The vet also said that they were amazed that he's fought this disease for so long ( he was given a month to live last September ) & that, in her opinion, he wasn't ready to go yet, so it was worth giving this drug a try. It's the first time they have used it & the staff have had to be trained up on it.....but what is there to lose...he is eating really well...He had an abscess burst in his eye yesterday, which made him look awful, but they've given him anti-biotics for that as well & he's come back home looking a new cat.....It's only a matter of time for sure, but he'll be happy & content now & free of pain.....  |
