Sadly I missed this ENVI thing, by having to work at short notice. Does anyone know of a link where one can watch a recording please? Judging by comments so far, things are not looking altogether positive. I too willbe ordering more nicbase.

There were many good points, alas again I feel that ENVI are going to push through regardless.
They don't care about right or wrong, about evidence, about opinion that opposes their legislation or indeed the slightest bit about public health - they only want the legislation on the books and have the arguments later.

I urge everybody to get over to the SWOF campaign on youtube and send in your videos for Andy Sutton about your vaping story and your thoughts on the EU TPD. I've done a couple of short videos, don't even care if they get used, its good to vent anyway.
Also if you can spare some cash get over and donate too.

I caught the last hour of it I think. That Linda Mcaven..... she really doesn't like vapers.

Anything good was being twisted by someone, Linda was usually that someone.

As far as those behind the desk were concerned, vaping is all about cigalikes and the little blue light on the end of them is going to attract kiddywinkies to vaping and they are all going to get high on nicotine and end up hospitalised.

Therefore there should be an outright ban on all things e-cig related and it doesn't matter that their "research" is flawed or a load of bunkum, they are "Europe's Moral Guardians" and they know best even if we don't.

I am very disappointed that work forced me to miss the live broadcast. I am also disappointed that in spite of spending a lot of time searching, I have been unable to find a recording or better still a transcript. If such a thing exists, it would be beneficial to everyone for future reference. Can anyone helpout here please?

Sadly this is the truth.

Utter bollocks the lot of it not to put to fine a point on my view.

There are unfortunately some people that for whatever reason, want to see e-cigs banned.
I don't know if they are in big tobacco or big pharma's pockets, if they really hate us and want us to die or if they were all dropped on their heads as babies.
But for some strange reason they really don't want to save lives.

You know, I might take it personally, that maybe they hate me and want me to die.
Then I realise they want to consign millions of other vapers in the EU to a wooden box and I realise that anyone opposing e-cigs is just mad, mad as a box of frogs in a scary I want everyone to die and inflict as much misery on mankind sort of mad.



It makes me feel better they don't hate me, they just hate everyone apart from themselves.

I've just watched the bits I missed, thanks @verybowring I was struck by how much our letters to the MEP's have obviously made a difference. Next I was struck by how little difference it made to those who already have an opinion.
The MHRA spokesman was telling, their report is out later next month I believe and it doesn't look that good from what the guy is saying.

It's mostly negative from what I could see. The bright lights in the darkness that tried hard, were mostly ignored.

I am only knew to vaping. And of course I don't wan't to see any negative legislation. But I am not too worried about any Legislation, when Vaping truly catches on, as it will, it will be here to stay.

Even if it was made illegal, equipment and juices will still be available. Now I know, most people will not want to break the law, if such a law was imposed, (worst scenario) but everything will be available. The worst that will happen is the Government will tax it, so expect price increases, at most.

Vape awareness is pretty poor, but it will get better, through your lobbying no doubt, the main thing in my opinion is to get away from the E-Cig connection, mention e-cigs and people associate it with those cigarette look a likes. Some sort of Re-branding may be needed.

Good work, keep lobbying, but don't lose any sleep. Vaping is here to stay, people are not stupid, they may be addicted to nicotine or they may simply enjoy smoking.

Allow/enable smokers/vapers to be aware of a healthier and cheaper alternative way of getting that nicotine and they will take it.

As for the Tobacco Companies, with their expertise and financial backing they could out price anyone and produce the best Vaping products on the market.

Well maybe they can't because China has the market already. If so, well done China.

Vape, "Take Away", not likely.
