Have not watched this for many years, so perhaps I shouldn't comment. When I have seen snippets, I can't help thinking this is partly why we're in the position we're in. If these are the types of people going to be in charge of our companies, and some probably already are, I despair. Nearly as bad as 'I'm A Celebrity' and all the other 'reality' shows. Sorry if this upsets those that like these types of shows, perhaps I really am an 'old fart' now!

I'm 32 and clearly an old fart then In our house, the Apprentice is called C*** Soup (we sing it over the title tune), I can't stand those people! What's so good about being like them anyway? I run my own business but I wouldn't dream of behaving like that! There's a great old John Cleese lecture somewhere on the scientifically proven benefits of taking your time making decisions, mulling things over, getting more information - but this bunch of ****s just charge in all balls ahoy and wonder why they eff it up. And they're all the same in every series! It's just not how you do good business to my mind.

I wouldn't watch it but the hubby has some kind of grim fascination with it so it's on in the background whilst I'm trying to do something more productive, like coming to AAEC

Gaawd, that brings back memories. I was force fed the John Cleese training videos (Video Arts) in my management training. They were very good and because it was Cleese, with his brilliant sarcastic ability, it got the message home every time.

Reminds me of when I was in retail, we had an idiot personell manager, fresh out of university, who thought it was a good idea to call some of us in on our day off to watch a video about time management.  Said person didn't last long.

No Raffles, out on their R's when said person announced their engagement right in the middle of the regional controllers briefing to us on the company's business plan, then sent themselves a £200 bouquet of flowers and tried to charge it to the company. Unbelievable.

I watch it just to hear Alan's one liner put downs to the contestants. Makes me laugh.
Yes, it does appear that every series is filled with the type of people you would run a mile to avoid socially in real life never mind entrust your money in business!! There seems to be this ridiculous notion that unless you are a vile, ruthless sociopath you can't be any good in business. Totally wrong in my opinion.

That program shows how low a human being can go to get somewhere, it brings out the worst in someone, that's showbiz i suppose
