Whats the general consensus of ekowool equivalent for 2mm and 3mm silica ?

I use it exactly as I used silica, the same size where possible.  It all depends on your atty really.  I've got 1/2/3 mm so all bases covered.

Thanks Roger . I was thinking of getting a full set, whatever doesn't fit I can always use in a dripper

Yes, that was my thinking as well.  It (Ekowool) is good stuff.  I took some out of a dripper to change the coil, flamed it and it came up clean as new!!!

I've only got 2mm Ekowool - and that's been fine for Evod's, iGo and Spheroid thus far

Got loads of 1mm/2mm/3mm silica and loads of 2mm Ekowool, just need loads of 3mm Ekowool and i will be happy.

I am using 3mm ekowool in my Evod right now and it's working great, even without the extra strands on top to stop leaking.

But i do mess around with it a bit to take the flatness out of the ekowool though.

*fingers*crossed it will stay working fine.

Ordered ekowool and they've sent me plain silica instead so time to see what their customer services are like.

Also got a few rolls of wire and have finally managed to wrap something less than 2ohms.


Making clouds using ribbon wire in an RSST... After a week of some very average vaping I've got flavour and vapour.   Woo Hoo.

Everything Adam, single strand in Kayfun mini, Kayfun 3.1 and working fab in my Spheroid. All with 4 wraps of .20 Kanthal coming out at 1.8 to 2ohm

I am using 3mm. Ekowool in the Spheroid and both my Kayfun Mini and 3.1. I prefer this to any other silica. I push the wick back into its round shape, as it arrives a bit flattened, then flame the wick to red/white hot before I cut my required amount off a full length, (make sure you let it cool before touching as it holds the heat for longer than normal silica). Flaming it has the effect of making it quite stiff/rigid which allows you to cut it with nail clippers without the ends fraying.
Because it is rigid, you can wind your coil without a pin/paperclip and it goes back to its original flexible form as soon as you put juice on it.
I use a single strand of 3mm wick in all my above atties.
