riva 1100 battery life

hello  

i've been happily vaping away for i don't know how long now (until i post this message and have a look at my banner below) but i'm a bit concerned about the batteries for my riva 1100.

at first, a battery would last me 2 days before it needed charging but that has lessened and i'm finding that i'm having to swap over a lot more often now.  does battery life diminish over time?  should i buy a spare in case my spare runs out too?!!

also, one seemed like it needed charging so i plugged it in and after just half an hour, the blue light flashed loads and the fully charged green light came on.  all very confusing - can anyone shed an light on these problems for me please?

They are like all rechargeable batteries out there, the more you use them the more it's life shortens.

EDIT: Yes get a spare, always have a spare a cupboard full of spares, even a garage full of spares, rent out a holding facility and keep more spares in there

Battery life does diminish after time and its always best to buy spares as back up. Not to sure how long it would last you for as that depends on the number of chargers and the amount of usage in vaping but yep get some spares

But also, make sure the connections on your batteries and charger are clean! Alcohol swabs are good for this

Romelee, Stamina & Karma are right. Any rechargeable battery will start to hold less charge each time it's recharged..

You were doing really well to get 2 days out of an 1100 mAh battery before you needed to recharge it. If it had been an e-lite battery for instance, you would have been lucky to get 2 hours out of it.

Going by your banner, 6 weeks does seem like abit of a short time for them to give up the ghost. Have you tried cleaning the contacts like already suggested?

i had no idea i needed to clean the contacts! what do i use? (where would i buy alcohol swabs?)

or if you know any nurses or health care workers, they're not allowed to use out of date swabs which are fine for our purpose

I've got 3 Riva and 1 ego battery which have all been working well for over 3 months now. I generally have 3 on the go and a spare and recharge them every couple of days.

Is it best to keep the charge topped up if I haven't used one much or let it run down more and does anyone have a general idea how many charges the batteries may take before they die?

kirrielad, I don't think Floop's batteries have given up the ghost - they are just no longer lasting 2 days between recharges LOL, I'm such a heavy vaper, I'd never get 2 days out of any battery.

Sooetie, the batteries don't have any memory so no need to fully discharge before recharging. In fact they will last longer if you don't completely drain them before recharging.

This 'slow death' happens to all rechargeable batteries. My phone, laptop, etc etc don't last as long as they did when new. I think it's usually quoted in charge/discharge cycles and most batteries will take several thousand before eventually dying
