Oh dear! Who is Stevo and I will try to contact him. If he doesn't know already he will want to know what operating system you're using. I don't often get problems with my lappy but when I do, rebooting is my first resort (which you will have done for the restore); then I get Advanced System Care to fix any registry problems; then my antivirus program; then SuperAntiSpyware; then Malwarebytes. If none of that helps you may need to format your hard drive You haven't seriously overcrowded the hard drive, have you? If it's a hardware problem there's nothing much you can do about it. scylla

Hi mate laptops are my nightmare but heres a whirly for you do you defrag rgular as this is a must for all comp users. As it can help your disc to stay in tip top condition. first run download and run this: www.piriform.com/ccleanerMake sure you run the cleaner and close all broswers and after youve run the cleaner run the rgistry cleaner. then get this: www.safer-networking.org/en/download/Update then run a check then try this: www.malwarebytes.org/And run your anti virus software in safe mode either press F2 OR F5 at start mode and make sure you run in safe mode without networking. Hope you can do this without your laptop dieing mate. Hope this helps

It'll take him all night to do all that, with the state his lappy is in - he must have some progs already installed that he can use ???
Who is this Stevo? Must be someone who knows Ian and can phone him.

Roachie, What you just did is the same as going towards a man that just got his knee shot and say: " dude you must move that, first you go to that pool and swim 1mile while washing that, then put on your tennis and run half a marathon! In the end, get on your bike and ride to the nearest cliff, put on a bandage and do some bungee jumping!" xD Jk... Hope you can soet it out Ian! Sorry for jokin' around! (())

I'm with roachie on the attempted fix yourself although I prefer Glary Utilities to ccleaner as I find it works better and fixes more things. I'd also run a Trend Micro Homecall as a precaution too.
