So sat down with some wire and wick and my old T3 heads last night and decided to just bite the bullet and have a go. It worked, pretty much first time, a couple of cock-ups due to using old blunt wire cutters, and the probe on my multimeter is just bare wire now, but it seems to vape alright, despite having a pretty high ohms rating (looked to be over 3) So I did my other one, and jammed it in the spares box. I reckon the next one I do will actually be spot on, quick learning curve. Also will buy new wire snips. Life is about to get much cheaper, this is a lot easier than one might be led to believe by some of the videos on youtube.

Absolutely no probs gapy360, I just love to make people smile, much at my own expense and sometimes at others expense but always without malice

Best thing for cutting wire and silica type wick is what's called a 'braid blade' from a fishing tackle shop or ebay. Cuts wick very cleanly with no fraying. About £5.00.

ah, the second one I did last week is not so good. I tried using it last night, and my battery just flashes at me and refuses to work. I suspect a short in there somewhere. More fiddling then...
