Hello Im a couple of weeks in now and all is going ok. I ve been watching loads of you tube vids and reading alot of posts here and im starting to very slowly get my head round things. So could anyone recommend a tank i could buy that would fit on my Riva 1100 battery but possibly with a view to still being used if i upgraded from the 1100 to a variable voltage battery in due course? Also im reading alot of people freezing nic base.I ve got nic base on order to start making my own but im a bit lost as to when to freeze(if for example i had a nic base that id expect to last three months is there any need to freeze or to word another way how long will a supply last without being frozen?(im thinking of storing up to one years supply bough over the next month or so. Finally (for now ) I like using the cartomisers also but like the idea of replacing the poly filler inside to extend the life (not just cost saving but the self sufficency thing).....Could someone recommend carts suitable for this and where i could buy spare material? Thanks in advance....Rich

Hi Rich, glad all going ok for you, i'm up to a week tomorrow without a stinky & not wanting one either, i can't help you with the nic base but i've seen the wadding for the carto's here paradisevapeuk.vstore.ca/diy-accessories-c-5.html, someone will probably be along & advise you of other places to get this

The wadding linked to above is for the older style cartridges that had a separate attomiser! If you like using cartos, try a carto tank. As the carto is never getting a chance to dry out they last a lot longer in a tank, so quite economical really. You could also try a rebuildable tank or atomiser, that would be very self sufficient and wire and wick are dead cheap! your nic base should be fine for up to 2 years in a cool dark place, no point freezing it unless you're stocking up for a Zombie Apocalypse

Hi Rich Just about everything these days is what is called a 510 fitting which means that any tank etc you buy should fit on both your riva batteries and any future vv battery you purchase. I have no idea about changing wadding, but I would suggest that there are much easier ways of prolonging their life, like soaking them in boiling water and then leaving to dry. "Gunk" builds up on the actual coil, so cleaning the wadding is not going to keep them going indefinitely. Some people soak them in vodka or dental cleaning stuff, but we found (don't use cartos anymore) that pouring boiling water over them and leaving to soak overnight, before pouring fresh boiling water over them and leaving them for and hour or so before rinsing and leaving to dry on the radiator for a couple of days worked really well to keep them going. Hope that helps

I've had the same thing, the smell is godawful, did I really smell like that when I smoked ??! Now I know why the other half used to moan so much when she gave up .... nothing worse than a reformed smoker

rich64Vision Ego v3Kanger EVODboth very easy to rewick/recoil. They are from a trusted vendor, and are original items (potentially less problems down the line ) Or if you can wait, Mini Nova from fasttech are very good value, & I don't believe they have any of the issues associated with the Vivi Nova , which I consider to also be excellent value, if you don't mind a bit of DIY.

I've had a few depressing re-wick/coil incidents recently. Is there a size you would recommend? or even a link?

Maybe these? I'm not the person to give you a proper answer though, as I don't really use cartos and have never had a tank. But I think this is the sort of thing Karma is on about
