I am 67 years old. I have worn a full set of dentures, both upper and lower since I was 18. I have had my current dentures for many years, and generally they are in good condition. However, as a result of smoking for many years, they have become stained with deposits from cigarette smoke. As I no longer smoke, I would like to get rid of these stains. Every commercial product I have tried is only partly successful. I did consider having them cleaned by a dentist, but I would not want to be without them for more than a few hours, as i can not eat without them. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how was it dealt with ?

Thanks for the tips. I will try bicarb. Has anyone tried one of the sonic or ultrasonic cleaning baths? My dentures are not too bad, but since I switched to vaping I would like to get rid of smoking related stains.

That could be worth a shot as once your dentures are sparkly and you get into mixing your own juices you can use the ultrasonic cleaning bath to steep your juices super fast Super-Shiny the #vaping god is the man who knows about that.

I clean my dentures in the ultrasonic bath before going to the dentist for a check up.
Not so much to whiten them, but just to get rid of anything that is stuck between the teeth.
I put two Sterident tablets into warm water and give them two 8 minute cycles.
It certainly doesn't do them any harm.

Denture cleaning tablets contain Bicarb of Soda Neptune, you probably have them already. I'd use a couple of tablets every night, overnight to see how they come up after a few days of that treatment maybe. If you've a UC it wouldn't hurt to use that as well. It might be worth seeing if you have a local Dental Technician who could clean your dentures for you whilst you wait perhaps.

Or look in your chemists or online for Stain Away Plus denture cleaner, that should do the trick.

Is there anyone on here that still has their OWN teeth, think we need to have a special list, teeth or no teeth.
