I have never owned a Vivi Nova, although I have thought about getting one. Someone said that it vaped too airily for their taste. I have a theory on airy vapes. All you need to dois restrict the air inlet. First locate the air inlet hole or holes. If you cant find it/ them, do the following. Take a good drag, and halfway through, change from sucking to blowing. Vapour will come out of the air hole. If there are two holes, cover one with your finger and try a drag. If this is better, cover the hole with a small sticker or a piece of sticky tape. If there is only one hole, try covering it with a sticker. Then make a tiny hole in the sticker with a needle. Gradually enlarge the whole until you get the desired result. I have often thought that someone should make a device with a variable air inlet. A bit like the choke on a carburretor. It would have too uses, finding the ideal vapour air ratio, and also a means of cutting down by gradually increasing the air over a period to give less nicotine. There are 2 air holes just above the 510 thread and have filled one with candle wax draw is a lot better but still not much flavour or vapour giles, I may give the dual coil heads a go thanks for the link Perpetua no don't have a plinth but think I may have cured that with a bit of wax, let's hope it does just need running in thanks for all the input guys

giles, good guide mate, a couple of questions couldn't quite understand where the 4 wires for the 2 coils end up do 2 go outside the rubber bung and the other 2 through the rubber bung to then get trapped by the pin and you mention using a pin rather than a needle to form the coil, what do you mean by that Cheers

promark two of the wires do indeed go through the rubber bung to then get trapped by the pin. The way I do it, the other two don't go anywhere near the rubber bung - they go along the wick to the outside of the head, and get trapped when you put the top of the head back on. I just wind them round the outside of the head a bit, but you could cut them off where they come out of the head. When you make a coil it is a good idea to lay the wick along something rigid - some of the videos suggest a straightened paperclip, some a needle - and wrap the coil around that as well as the wick. Have a look at for instance. You then pull out the needle (or whatever) before fitting the coil to the head, and the wick is bound by the coil, but not so tightly as to strangle it. Using a pin instead of a needle gives me a coil with a smaller diameter, so it fits more easily into the dual-coil head. I can see my guide wasn't that clear about these things - I'll update it next time I rewick one.

giles, ah i see now, will definitely try the dual coil head, don't think i will try putting 2 coils in the normal single coil head, but then again nothing ventured and all that Regarding the forming I thought that is what you meant but wasn't sure, I use a straightened paper clip but something slimmer may well be better I may well re coil it tomorrow with a single 3mm wick rather than the stock 4 spindly ones to see if any better

Well I have now recoiled with 3mm silica 5 wraps of .20 came out at 2.1 ohms so much better now
Still going to try a dual coil head, or maybe even try 2 coils in the normal head

You could try Promark, it won't do any harm to. Although I find my Custard/Dessert flavours taste that bit better in an Evod than a Nova, possibly because one is a bottom coil and the other a top.

Ye gonna give it a go just cleaning it out now syringed the juice into the evod so much better with one air holes blocked, might have to try blocking one of the vivi air holes too Seems like the BCC seem to be better all round in my experience, might have to get a Protank

If you find the Nova and Evod airy, then you'll find the Protank probably more so without some modification Promark. I prefer airy so they've all been good for me.

Thanks for the info Perpetua, ye the evod is way too airy with all 3 holes seems about right for me with one plugged, and if the protank is even airyer (if that word exists) probably not for me Even the ce5's I have seem to perform better than the vivi nova, anyone wanna buy it?

promark you can block the holes on the Protank to make it less airy.

It'll drive you insane. I'm going back to Novas, but not the big one. Is yours the full-sized one? I gave mine away at a Vape meet.
