I mainly vape two flavours perps, so I have one attie for each. I almost always buy atties in pairs

Being flat top they may not fit.. Forgive me Mev . . . but why would you buy a lovely, not inexpensive device even second hand and not buy the correct batteries in the first instance for it. It's like spoiling the ship for a ha'penny worth of tar. I don't understand. ???

When Provari came about AW'2 were one the best and I suppose that's why they said they must be used for warranty purposes but now there are better batteries about. Its a shame Provari doesn't move on with the times like batteries have done.

Which is fine if you're prepared to do that, I'd rather buy the correct recommended batteries from the outset.

I found some older Provari V1 instructions online a while back, all that was recommended there was high drain unprotected batteries ??? No mention of AWs! They probably insist on AWs now as folks will have been using any old sh@t batteries in them then claiming on the warranty! BTW, flat tops are useless. I tried to use my Provari to check the charge is some flat topped batteries, it wouldn't recognise them

BTW, flat tops are useless. I tried to use my Provari to check the charge is some flat topped batteries, it wouldn't recognise them The way the electronics sit inside the Provari top ( there's a picture knocking about on the web somewhere ) unless you have a nippled/pipped battery, it doesn't come into contact with the workings. So no matter how good a battery it is, it'll be useless to you unless a modification can be made.
