You can drink squash or flavoured water instead. I have started drinking squash as I need to up my water drinking for my dermatitis, it's amazing that a lot of skin conditions can be helped by drinking more water.
@roachie, have you never had glycerine, lemon and honey for a sore throat?? I always have a bottle of that and bronchial mixture in. Cheap and works better than most of the branded stuff!!

Boots sell there Glycerine to use as a base for adding Things like Mentholyptus oil for congestion, Lemon for sore throats. and various other medicinal compounds. The Glycerine itself is the same stuff you'd get from an e-cig vendor, or Supermarket.
Glycerine (VG) Has a moisturising affect on the mouth, whereas Glycol ( PG ) Has a drying affect. That's why it's a good idea to drink frequently when using all PG juices.

Doesn't beer go right through you, Stud? Alcohol is a helluva diuretic. scylla Apparently not - more in/less out = nett hydration. less in/more out = nett dehydration same applies with all hydrous liquid drinks He's right, I did the first year of an adult nursing course and while water is good, pure natural fruit juice hydrates you better than water and any liquid intake of a decent volume is still better than no intake. Caffeine in so many drinks is indeed a diuretic. Tea hydrates people really well, better than coffee (the average tea has less caffeine than coffee) but both are diuretics as pointed out - but you still keep quite a lot of the liquid you drink of the caffeinated variety. Yes, even alcohol gets counted on good liquid intake charts like hospitals use. For most people drinking lots of beer, after a while you pee a lot because you are overloading your system with so much liquid it needs shot of the excess fast hence the run through.
