Starting To Cough

What a great story robby thanks for sharing. I must get in my bike again now I have stipped smoking for over 3 months. I'm sure I will be less out of breath becuase of it.

I can almost guarantee it matt1988 . I used to smoke between 20 and 25 untipped cigarettes a day (had done for over 40 years). I couldn`t even stop the fags when I had the heart attack. The only thing keeping me going when I was in hospital getting the stent put in was having a fag when I got out. I know it was irresponsible and foolish, but such was my addiction to nicotine, and while we are talking about that, to compare caffeine addiction to nicotine addiction is total nonsense to my way of thinking.

Thanks all, funnyly enough I never noticed a cough while smoking for 30 years. Mind, must have been there and just got used to it I suppose.

Brilliant about the bike robby. I did laugh mind when you said he wasn't in, and you didn't get your brew. That w ould have been my first thought too, oh and the need to use the loo for me too. Seriously though, you must feel like a new person, it excites me to read things like this, that you have stuck to vaping and not gone back on the stinkies, re enforces that it can be done, and I will be able to stick with it too.

I have just been sooo surprised really, it isnt hurting today at all. I really cant understand that lol.

Stick with it siffy, it is not "easy", but easier than I thought it would be and probably easier than you thought  . But dont feel guilty like I did when I first started vaping cause it wasn`t hard enough and when peeps tell you how wonderful you are for doing it, think to yourself "Yes I am !!!"

I cant believe that my legs aren`t sore at all, it turns out what I thought was a 5 mile round trip was an 8 mile round trip, so I`ve done 16 miles in two days, just doing a shorter ride after dinner today, dont want to push my luck lol @johanino

It has really amazed me, I`ve done bugger all for three years really, go out on the bike, do 8 miles each of two days, and not only am I still standing, no aching joints or muscles. Must be the vaping

I've been off the fags for just over 50 days. Before vaping, most nights I would wake up at some point having a coughing fit. Acid reflux was partly responsible but smoking just made it worse.
Since vaping, I've only woken up twice having the same cough. I also used to spontaneously cough for no apparent reason during the day but that's also much less often.
I still do have a bit of a cough but nowhere near as pronounced as when smoking.

I've heard that high pg and high nicotine can be irritants but I've not experimented with lots of different combinations to see whether altering those will make a difference here.

I find that the vape does "collect" a bit in the throat, it doesn`t irritate me, but it does need cleared every now and again

The funny thing is I didn't even cough at all today, day 8. That might be it now? Mind even if it's not no hardship, not compared to if I was still smoking. Be interesting to see how I am next time I get a cold, I normally pick up three or four during winter and tend to feel truly pants.
