vaping at work

Hi all i thought i would like to pass this on.Where i work is not important. A friend at work showed me a letter from our hr department concerning the smoking of e cigs in the workplace.my friend is a drivers mate and they have been banned from using e cigs in vehicles, at the same time there has been a complete blanket ban of using ecigs in offices and generaly the work place. the reason given is on grounds that the use of e cigs has not had enough medical reserch done and the effect to others (ie passive smoking )is still the same.also they say they look too much like normal cigarettes (thanks e lites/sky cig ) now what realy gets on my goat.... whilst i smoke e cigs my self and i go to my car for my breaks. for some (we are very few ) they still have to use the stinky smoke hut, which they are exposing themselves to the same passive smoking that a none smoker would recieve. no special provisions have been made for e smoking outside in a desiginated seperate area for e cig smokers.

Such a shame Dusty, when there are other enlightened Employers actually buying ecig kits for their smoking employee's.

Funny that dustyfog, we were told the same thing Friday afternoon at work our manager had been to a meeting that morning & it was mentioned that a comunicacation was eminent, I have been vaping happily in the office for the past 5 months but now I have go out side with the stinkies.

With the steady increase of vapers at my work I can see the anti-logic brigade making a policy decision banning them as well. When I was the renegade I felt somewhat more secure I would be fine to continue

HR = Jumped up jobs worth , any little thing they can jump on they will just to try and justify their worth , thank F I don't have HR where I work as their would be some real bust ups .

So what happens with vapers that are vaping no nic e-juice?

That cannot be deemed similar to smoking.

Then again, who is going to know whether the e-juice that you are vaping contains nicotine or not?

I drive van. We got a notice saying we weren't allowed ecigs because it replicates a cigarette . And no smoking in a work vehicle . Because people complain . But I still vape in my work van who cares.

Contact your union and tell them you are bring forced to passively inhale smoke from combustible materials. That will make your HR department shit themselves. They cower like vampires in the sun when they hear the word union

Phone them and ask for the press department,
Make up a website name Like the peoples daily.., Then ask them if it is true you are now asking non smokers to receive passive smoke.

Strange...I can't vape or smoke cowboy killers at work but I can stand over my welding machine and breath in all the toxic fumes that are disbursed. It seems even here in the US management hasn't got a clue about the health benefits or risks. They just want the job done....Good luck on changing the views of the old guard....No luck here in the US.
