In The Sunday Post today. I wonder if would be possible for someone, who knows what they are doing, to post the article on the forum. Thanks. I read that today at my Dad's. It was mainly just the normal stuff that's been coming up in the Press since the MHRA announcement There was one quote, I think from ASH, saying that 50% of smokers would die from a smoking related illness so basically e-cigs may not be proven to be safe but do seem to be safer than smoking tobacco! Unfortunately it was hidden among nonsense like, 'we don't know what's in them' 'children will use them as a gateway to smoking' 'it re-normalises smoking' 'they're not regulated' same old, unfortunately

Read it too, when you read it in detail it was actually quite pro vaping , in terms of the health benefits over smoking.

The only parts of the Sunday Post that are worth reading are "Oor Willie" and "The Broons"!

I just read the article...it is annoying some of the nonsense that people who are quoted as being knowledgable say in such articles. For example, Sheila Duff the Chief Executive of ASH is quoted as saying that "smokers will simply swap one addiction for another — albeit a “safer” one."
I am pretty sick of the hypocrisy that the anti vapers demonstrate. Whilst they like to use inflammatory terms with negative connotations when speaking of vapers habits, I wonder how they would feel were we to describe their morning coffees as addictions and suggest that their cups of tea should be medically assessed and regulated, to ensure that their blood concentrations of caffeine werent being over done, suggesting that they were too stupid to regulate their own consumption.
I am all for people being healthy and clean living, but I want the choice and unless the government pull tobacco off the shelves, then everything being planned for ecigs is just pure hypocrisy. All these lies about caring about the countries health, the MRHA being involved, if these anti vapers care so much and that is the reason they claim they are taking action to curb e cigs, then why are tobacco cigarettes still on the shelves? It is clear hypocrisy.

Agree totally guara. The two biggest interest groups are the big tobacco companies, who don't want to see profits disappear, and the big pharma companies who produce nrt, and don't want to see profits disappear.

I noticed with interest in the MHRAs documentation about the decision, they showed parties who had registered view and suggestions for various courses of action. Most interested parties were suggesting some kind of regulation, however Imperial Tobacco registered a suggestion to totally ban ecigs, an outright ban and for all products to be taken off the shelves immediately. Imperial Tobacco are the makers of Golden Virginia...obviously their view is based on a deep concern for the nations health (NOT!)
