Narrow and short or thick and long coil?

I have been searching but not read anything so far. Sorry if I'm re-treading here...

Has anyone noticed any significant difference in vapour production or taste winding longer coils with bigger diameter over shorter coils with smaller diameter for a fixed resistance coil?

I have tried both and may be imagining it but seem to prefer a longer thicker wire coil - I imagine the increased surface area produces more vapour.

In other words, say you wound a 2 Ohm coil - can you notice the difference between a narrow-short coil vs a thick-long coil?

Really? Is this just a unanimously well known fact? If so, why do vendors sell a variety a gauges?

Depends upon the space you have to fit the coil in to JMac . . . so it's useful to have the variations. Not least if your coil winding skills aren't the best.
