Sorry to say this, but i think it needs to be said.

This could be interpreted as people being offered a free day out to protest.

It's great that the offer is there for those who cannot afford to go off of their own steam, but posting it in this way onto the internet for all to see could end up backfiring big time.

You make a fair point actually Mark. Hadn't thought of that angle. Could be seen as a kind of "vote" buying exercise.

Many large and well regarded protests in the past have organised transport for people to go to a protest free of charge.
It has historically been quite normal for this sort of thing to happen, less usual for international travel to be involved I admit but I remember newsreels of buses full of people turning up at protests where many were paid for by interested parties.

The main difference means communicating about it has gone to the internet rather than phoning round people you know.
If anyone picks up on it for this reason it may also be an advantage to let us show how petty they are being about important issues.
I bet most of those opposed to us get their travel costs picked up by their corporate friends or by taxpayers money when they go to meetings and conferences.

Oh no, I get it.
We have some quite media savvy people amongst the vapers though who should (I hope) be able to counter any spin opponents try to put on it.

Is it just me that has a pointless view in humanity but I read it as it was meant.
People are helping people out who can't afford to make their voice heard, don't see anything wrong in that and I doubt the press will really care about who paid for a few of the tickets.

People help their own.

As I say I'm not trying to dampen any ones spirits, but to think the press would not bother about it especially if they knew where the money is coming from is somewhat naive.

As I said above I hope I'm wrong, but to me the headline to this post especially it being in caps reads a bit like a competition post.

I just think the tickets could have been handed out in a more subtle and discreet manner.

But again like I said above we're all different and lets just hope it's only me who reads it like that.

OK, after reading the posts above and receiving a PM on this I have edited the heading and more or less removed the posted message.

I am sure you'll all appreciate the spirit in which I posted this, I was just trying to be supportive to an idea which I personally think is great and shows how much compassion we have as a Vaping Community.

The press are already involved, with the BBC sending a crew with tickets paid for by VTTV & SWOF will be filming the whole thing to accompany the people going to Brussels so the "genie may already be out of the bottle" on that score.

As to being subtle or discrete, this was announced live on air last night on VTTV and there is less than 2 weeks for this PEACEFUL PROTEST to be organised.

I am sorry if my passion about this is misconstrued by anyone reading my original post.

I shall say no more on this and consider the matter closed.
