Right this isn't intended to be a reviews section (although if the mods don't think its appropriate here please fell free to move), more a place where us newcomers can discuss and suggest different flavour liquids that we have come across as we begin our journey into vaping.
Now one of the most wonderful things about vaping (and vapings a wonderful thing, the top ismade or rubber, their bottoms are made of - oh wait that's something quite else), is that you get a choice in the taste of the fumes you are breathing in and exhaling. Now I was always a very fussy smoker, basically if it wasn't a Marlboro Light (or a Marlboro menthol) it wasn't coming in (actually I could tolerate/enjoy Marlboro Reds until the headaches inevitably arrived after a day on them) - this of course exempts the nicotine desperation cigarette theft from my fellow smokers I have occasionally had to resort to when my supply ran out. So it was perhaps inevitable when I had mt first abortive attempts on ecigs I was not best impressed by the flavour. I should probably gloss over these - but I have yet to try a flavour that tastes or feels like a Marlboro light, and when you've pretty much exclusively smoked the same thing for 16+ years a vague approximation is not going to cut it.
So we turn to flavours - the curious concept of the stuff you are breathing in actually tasting - nice? Now I'm only 12 days into to my conversion and whilst my shopping bug has already known little end I have yet to try all the stuff I've bought so this is just my thoughts on what I've actually managed to vape so far. NOw it should be born in mind that I've been eager to try this stuff as soon as it arrived so that steeping thing I keep reading about hasn't really (I mean at all by this) happened. I suspect this is pretty common to all us newcomers mind...
Anyway all liquids have been tried either with a Jacvapour V3 ecigalike or my current gear an ego T with a CE4/5
Jacvapour
Now I owe these guys for helping me to where I am now - 12 days smoke free yay - and they have a really nice website - but if I had my time again and I'd stumbled here before I committed to a purchase with them I probably wouldn't be writing this bit now. But hey its worth stating my thoughts on their flavours anyway. I suspect that my feeling about all their tobacco flavoured stuff should be summarised as pretty revolting really - the 'reds' stuff does not taste like any Marlboro branded fag. The tobacco flavoured one is worse mind. We'll leave it at that - although anyone who disagrees and would like an unopened bottle of 'reds' juice (12mg) should feel free to pm me.
Now Jac offer two types of e liquid - normal and UK made. I have a strong suspicion that the 'normal' stuff is one of the big Chinese manufacturers stuff with their name on it but who knows. No clues from the site at any rate. Its pricey compated to other vendors though so probably best avoided unless you really take to one of the flavours. I guess the UK made originates from them though. So the flavours I bought originally from them
None UK (all tried in 12mg)
Apple - well this pretty much single handedly got me through my first few days without the fags. It does taste appley I guess - but a very sweet apple with big chemical aftertaste. I did use a whole 10ml bottle in the end though so it can't be that bad. Too sweet to be satisfying but tolerable.
Cherry - if the trade descriptions act applied to e juice I think this would suffer. It tastes sweet and almost creamy but not really like any cherry I have eaten. Probably aiming more for an approximation of a morello cherry I suspect. Would not go near again.
UK juice (all 18mg)
So I got a sampler box when I ordered a second manual battery for the V3 and some low resistance cartomimisers - these were all tried with this kit. All of these were 18mg
Spearmint - well it does taste minty and I am a big mint fan. But it lacks any kick at all - no throat hit at all - feels well a bit anorexic. Probably no where minty enough for me (I devour packs of Curiously Strong Mints). Enjoyable enought to inhale but not terribly good at scratching the need a cig itch.
Pure Menthol - now this is much better and its my liquid of choice when using the JAc cigalike. It hits nice and hard in the throat and it tastes pretty much exactly like a Marlboro Menthol. Slight chemical after taste though and it really seems to dry my throat although I think that may be my dislike of the cartomisers vs the clearonimsers rather then the flavour itself.
Bubblegum - for people of a certain age (you know who you are) this tastes exactly like original hubba bubba buuble gum or the pink gum balls from a gum ball machine. Nice strong throat hit and satisfying but a bit too sickly to be hitting all day.
Vanilla - nice stong throat hit from this one and smells gorgeous but gets really sickly sweet really quickly. Made me gag a few times when trying it shortly after eating.
Blackcurrent Squash - smells and tastes less like squash and more like blackcurrent throat sweets. A bit too medically for me.
So I got my ego at this point and all these were tried in a CE4/5 clearomiser
Liberty Flights
These guys do loads of different brands of liquids - now a friend from another forum recommeded their liquids so I thought I'd try one. I opted for the XO range as they claimed to be approximating real fruit flavours (as opposed to fruit flavour sweet approximations which seems to be a recurring theme elsewhere). I opted for:
Apple (XO 18mg) - now this is more like it. This is a tart and yet fizzy tasting apple with bags of throat hit. I adore it and have already vaped my way though 10mls in about 4 days - I just keep coming back to it (in fact the clearo filled up with it now is the last of the bottle - just as well another one is winging its way to me now through the mail. Would (and indeed have) buy again.
Vapeland
No idea whose juice this is again, but given the site gives you little clue I suspect its more chinese juice with their branding stuck on the bottle. Interesting they define high nictone content at 16mg - they don'y go higher. All samples were 16mg as such
Strawberry - well its a strawberry chew sweet rather then a real strawberry. Very sweet but quite a heavy satisying tone to it. Probably won't buy another bottle but will vape my way through what I have.
Blueberry - can you tell I like fruit yet lol? This is a similar story to the strawberry actually - not quite as heavy on the throat and slightly less 'fake' tasting but still very much a chemical attempt to pretend to be blueberry. Okayish but destined to be a vape to get through rather then really enjoy I suspect.
Creative Vapes
Now this is my first try of a boutique UK juice vendor. All their juice is made fresh to order apprently (not sure I see the logic to this if steeping is that important) so should be rested before consumption. So I apologise to them in advance for opening the bottle the day after it arrived as soon as my new clearo's arrived (hey I'm excited about this and that liberty flights apple stuff would all be gone if I hadn't)
Cloudy Lemondade (18mg 80VG/20VG) - now I love real lemonade and also lemon cordial - drink lots of the stuff. So you can see why I ordered this. And it didn't disappoint - in fact I've got through half the bottle today alone (okay 1.6mls ended up on the floor after an unfortunate mishap with removing a CE5 clearo from a dead battery) but its still the second fully used refill of the day I'm vaping between typing right now. Its more lemon cordial then lemondae if I'm honest and it is very sharp on the lemon as opposed to the sugar but thats the mix I like. I can see me getting through a lot of this, but the throat hit is light so probably not going to be my choice for the first vape of the day or if I'm getting a real need a fag urge. I will be ordering some more however so very recommended.
And thats all I've managed to try so far - I have unopend bottles from creative vapes that I'm going to leave a bit until I've puffed my way thorough the juice I have on the go (be interesting to see how much is in this steeping lark) and 3 bottles on the way from the alchemist. I'm also eying up some choices from Vapeology, The Chefs Kitchen and some very bargain looking flavour from JooSe juice.. So I shall keepthis thread updated. Now over to you guys...

Thanks for such an informative post. Personally I found that keeping a variety of juice flavours saw me through my first month off the stickies. The curiosity of trying something new offered a perfect distraction. I also tended to blend single flavours such as peach or pear with some HS Menthol Sensation for its unsweetened & subtle cooling effect. i too have been frustrated with many artificial tasting flavours but then sometimes they seem to satisfy. Lets face it, what strawberry flavoured foods actually taste of fresh strawberries. Although I haven't come across many juices that match their descriptions perfectly, one note able exception is House of Liquids "Frozen Orange", this is like vaping on Seville Orange Peel. I have also discovered that what I enjoy eating & drinking doesn't necessarily relate to what I enjoy vaping. I adore liquorice and aniseed but can't stand to vape it, and I detest eating lemon meringue pie but thoroughly enjoy vaping the Alchemists cupboard version. I've often been tempted by his softmint flavour, I guess that'll be in my next Variety is certainly the spice of life.

Curious post.
JacVapour liquids are made by Dekang, and it used to say so on the bottles. If it doesn't these days, then I'd still bet on Dekang.
I used to like JacVapour, so I'll resist taking a cheap shot. Mostly I don't like Dekang and I wouldn't pay £5.99 for a UK liquid when ecigwizard do nicer ones for as little as £3.80.

Great idea for a thread... I haven't many flavours that I have tested. I found Vape Escape before finding here, and the advise to sample first and not to buy in bulk as your tastes can soon change. So without that tip I ordered 2x30mls of both Gold & Silver and Menthol sensation. I have sice tried their Artic Cherry and Candy Floss. Oh and I forgot I tried Winson too. So all from Vape Escape 70/30 Winson: I purchased this as the name reminded me of Winston ciggs that I would smoke, as well as Pall Mall. I from memory enjoyed this. Too me it tasted like a ciggy, got a throat hit and enjoyed the taste. This one was the first one I used in my. www.vapeescape.co.uk/Basic-Vaping-Kits/Intro-Vision-Kit/Intro-Vision-Kit.htmlAnd can remember not trying to look at the PV, pretend it was a cig, and close my eyes so I wouldn't see that it wasn't. It worked as I remember thinking this really does taste like a ciggy. Got me nicely through my first week, which I from past experience fail afterv3 days, then try and start again. I will buy this again, Gold & Silver: To be honest I can't remember the last time I could afford a pack of B&H so have no idea if they taste the same as this juice. I know it is a very tobacco like taste and I get a great throat hit from this. Again, if I closed my eyes it really does taste like I am smoking. Menthol Sensation: My very favourite so far, quite a hit on this one. It is very strong in taste, just reminds me of an extra strong mint. Artic Cherry: This reminds me of a cherry Tune lozenge, I like it. I hope I haven't made it sound medicinal by comparing it to one, but it is the best was to explain the cherry note you taste againstvthe menthol back ground. I enjoyed this as I got the throat hit from the mint and the cherry wasn't too artifical tasting, not like a fresh cherry of course but the flavour together worked for me. Candy Floss: Tastes just like candy floss, very sweet, a bit too sweet for me. This is one I have a vape of now and again. To be fair I wouldn't eat candy floss all day so can see why I wouldn't vape this all day, would be too much for me personally as I am not a sweet tooth at all. But does it taste like Candy Floss? Yes, it really does. I am looking forward to other posts as I need to try out fruit flavours and am looking forward to being pointed in the right direction. Dreamy from your post I like the sound of the cloudy lemonade so willbpop that on my wish list note pad.

Hmmmm I wasn't really aiming for curious - helpful maybe but not curious. Which part was curious out of interest? The bottles of Jacvapour liquid I bought just have their branding one them - hence my suspicion that they were a bulk bought Chinese version now I understand a bit more about where eliquid comes from. I think its fair to say that Jacvapour have a very swish website and a very attractive product to someone like me when I first started looking into e-cigs who wants to try something that looks like a cigarette but also has the gadget appeal. I still think the VP1 kit looks cool - it just doesn't perform anything like the next step up - I don't think I'd have lasted to day 12 just with it. They are also pricey. I added the thoughts on the flavours as some might be interested - if they had done a juice I really liked I'd have probably bought it again but its clear once you shop around they price at a premium. Nice thoughts siff - I've been too scared to order a 30ml bottle of anything in case I hated it after my tobacco/reds mishap with Jacvapour but I'm quickly finding when you like a flavour 10mls isn't going to last very long. I only opened the cloudy lemonade yesterday and the bottle is half gone (okay some of it went on the floor lol but even so). I think I'm going to keep steered away from the tobacco flavoured stuff as flavours that I actually like the taste off seem like they are going to be more effective for me, would be nice to try a few maybe though - we really need a bricks and morter tasting shop here in Norwich. I don't want anything too sweet but a bit sweetness is good - I'm looking for the ideal mix I guess. Saving my other flavours for the spinner though - going to be fun then that arrives...

I've ordered and tried sooo many flavours over he past few weeks it's ridiculous but I think I'm settling on my faves now XXX Softmints from The Alchemists Cupboard - Tastes just like Softmints, sweet and minty and omg got to have more, good throat hit (at 50/50). My top scoring juice so far in my little record book. I was a menthol smoker but never found a menthol I liked so vaped dessert juices, which I still like, until I found this little beauty!! Grant's Vanilla CustardI ordered 50ml of GVC without ever tasting it and I keep this for special occasions, too rich for me to vape all day, I don't have a sweet tooth for food but I love this when others are on desserts and I have my GVC Tropical Sunset from Waves of Vapour
Fruity cocktails, lots of fruity, summery, beachside goodness, so good I've just ordered another 30ml I've just realised that since I bought my Skycig pack and sold it on within 2 weeks, I've never tried another tobacco flavour!

Oooh I've got that XXX mint one on order from the alchemist - sounds right up my street as I love mints and finding my menthol flavour is a tad harsh - for an all day vape in a clearo - hits the spot in the morning though...
Looking forward to that one arriving.
I've just hit buy on some apple and cinnamon and very berry cool from vapology - somebody stop me please....

I really like the sound of the cloudy lemonade, I think that'll be one to order soon. Paradise Vapes bubblegum is pretty tasty. I really love strong fruit flavours, I'll be watching this thread to see what others like.

Excellent post and just the one I've been looking for. Great descriptions on the liquids you've tried so far - and on that basis I've just ordered some of the Apple XO from Liberty flights.
I too have been spending waay too much on juice in search of my 'go to' flav. So far the only one I keep going back to is Cinnamon Hots.
I'm two weeks in today and have had a nasty cold for the past week - so I've lost pretty much all my taste and smell for the past week - Cinnamon Hots being the only exception. Desperate to get some taste back ASAP. Today there are signs of a return, but still way off what is was when I starting vaping two weeks ago.
I like a good throat hit and accidentally bought some 50/50 (???) which doesn't have the same hit as a 30/70 or whatever it is - but you're description of a decent throat hit persuaded me to give the Apple XO a try -
so thank you very much!
(I'll let you know if I agree)

Ooohh lord hope you like the apple as much as I do - will feel guilty if not. Its definitely got the throat hit though so you won't be disappointed there - I think though after a week vaping it like crazy it would be even better with the sweetness toned down another notch and the fizziness up a bit. Still compared to the other apple I tried its out of this world.
I love cinnamon so really looking forward to the apple and cinnamon flavour I've ordered showing up. Right now I'm road testing creative vapes raspberry in my new kit (spinner +evod) and its very good. Will give it a few more days for a full verdict though.

I sort of mixed my own apple cinnamon last night from a sample of apple I got with my first order. Turned out rather nice.
I find this whole vaping thing like going into a sweet shop for the first time and finding they have rows and rows of sweets I've never tried before. My mouth waters on every page and I have to hold back from doing a bit of happy clicking. It's so easy to order this stuff, I don't even need to get out my card, all done via Paypal - it's frightening!

I keep coming back to cinnamon. Have tried USA mix (which is OK, got me of the stinkies!), menthol, kiwi, peanut butter, allok. Cappuccino put me off coffee for days and a ginger one I tried tastes of nothing. Also tried a spearmint from vapourtine, which just wasn't sweet enough for me. So I'm back to cinnamon, which has become my ADV. Have some strawberry mint to try.
My reviews are sh**e, but liquids are so much down to individual taste I think you just have to try loads until you hit the right one.

Oooh, a work colleague is bringing me a sample of Black Cat to try over the weekend, I was dubious about the tobacco taste but it sounds lovely. Can't wait to try it now *bounces*

Can't wait to try it now *bounces* Brilliant, let us know what you think of it. What works for me is it tzstes lovely, not over powering, very plesant taste. The main thing I like is it leaves a taste in my mouth afterwards, like when I smoked, so it's as though that taste memory makes me feel like I really hzve had a ciggy. Not a heavy dirty taste, but a taste I remember from when I smoked. I have three more flavours which fingers crossed will arrive today. Looking forward to your views on this flavour, enjoy your day.
