Thats great verey, you should advertise for all the defunct V1's, mod them and sell them on. Looks a super device now.

Inspired by this, I decided to take apart my Revolution 2 today... I've not done much with it really, was hoping to change the atty connection at the top, but there's a feeder cup for the needle, so decided not to tinker... In the end, I simply cut off the original battery, and soldered longer wire in place.
I then took off the base cap, and cut off the tube that comprised the spare atomiser storage, and super glued the case door on that, so I can't use it...
The last stage involved soldering in place a CR123a battery, and taping things up, and you know what? It works a dream... even the charging circuit still works, and I've had it on charge the last couple of hours (the CR123a was drained), and it functions much better!
Need to clean it up a little, replace the tape I've used for neat insulation, as I had run out I just used some gaffer tape... but will post pics of the internals if anyone is interested?
Tim

As promised, here's a couple of pictures of my tinkering... Here you can see that gone is the tiny square battery that comes with the mod originally. That battery is a 3.5v 600ma wonder, what I've put on here, simply because it was spare, was a Protected AW CR123a 750ma , now in order to make sure that the battery connection wasn't going to come apart, I was a little naughty, in that I put a blob of solder on each of the positive and negative terminals... then applied a little heat to melt the solder, push on the wire, then let the solder harden. I was especially wary with this as you're really not supposed to do this, so I wouldn't recommend that anyone do this! Once soldered, I taped up the contacts... You may also be able to see in this pic that prior to the previous operation I extended the positive and ground wires, this is pretty essential as the original wires are quite short. No simple twist of the cable cores though, I twisted them together to form a mechanical connection, and then soldered in place, and taped up. Also in this same shot is the base plate, where you can see that I've taken a Junior Hacksaw to the atomiser storage compartment to make space for the battery. Here you can see the battery in place prior to reassemble. The nice thing about this, is that it's not too invasive, and I discovered that the charge circuit still works! Lucky really as otherwise it would have been a real pain trying to change the battery! Tim
