Hi I finally managed to rewick a nova today. It was glowing perfectly. No hot spots. And was reading 1.5ohms. So put some juice in it and went to vape it and provari is giving me E1 error!! So frustrating. Any ideas what caused it to short when I put the juice in Thanks

What have you got the Voltage set at? Try turning it down to see what happens

Voltage was at 4.2. Just don't understand how it was burning so well when I dry burnt it to test it. Then shorts as soon as I put juice in it.

Apart from filling with juice, what else are you doing between dry burning and vaping??
What materials did you use to rewick?
You may or may not be aware of this but some wicking material need preparing before they will give a desired performance..
Ie.
Silica benefits from boiling in a pan of water
Ekowool benefits from flaming with a blowtorch as does steel rope
Kanthal wire also benefits from slight flaming
Doing the above will help rid of any oils and impurities introduced during the manufacturing process.. not doing anything could well give a burnt taste..
If you allready knew this I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions..
Have you rewicked anything else that has worked ok?

Not having used silica (I do have some, just not used it yet!) I have no first hand knowledge but im fairly sure a 15minute boil should suffice Ps. You dont necessarily burn the wire, just give it a light going over with a blowtorch to burn off the manufacturer's oils etc.. Quick once over to get it glowing shoukd do the trick.. dont heat it for too long.. Will make it less springy too which will help form the coils..

I don't boil Silica/Eko wick or flame my wire . . . how many wraps are you using Xtc? Maybe aim for higher ohms with fewer wraps so there's less chance of them touching when you add your liquid and put the Nova back together.

I use 3mm silica and 0.2 Kanthal with 4-5 wraps when I recoil my nova heads I've never boiled the silica but I do flame the wire to take the tension out of it. Never had any problems with them yet

Cant figure out wat Im doing wrong.
