Hi Blownupdolly, we have had motor homes in the past and had a lot of fun with them. Ours used LPG and so the cost of fuel was cheaper, but the hassle of keeping them on the road plus the cost of fuel, road tax and insurance for all the use that we got from them, in the end it was just not worth it. We used to "A" frame the Moggy Minor behind the motor home and we explored many areas of Scotland, England and Ireland in that mode.

Mr Dolly just reminded me why I couldn't remember fuel costs in Aus. We took a special deal they do down there. Because of the vast distances between cities down there, hire companies find it hard to get their motor homes back to base so offer people the chance to drive them back for them and pay $250 fuel costs to you. Wish they did that here!!

That's a really nice looking Van.. just the very job I agree with you and bluefish about the new vans. I haven't seen a new van that I like or would think about giving up the one we have for. Certainly doesn't look like it needs much doing to it so ....Hope you get many more happy years out of it.

My one and only experience of camping was floating down a hill, in a storm, at Newquay, many, many years ago. And then trying to take the tent down in the morning, only to experience hang gliding! I think you've made a wise decision lobeydosser. Nothing to add but Raffles description sounded like it could have come straight out of a "carry on" film . . . . I can picture it clearly
