Hey everyone! Ok, so the time has come that I want to start mixing up my own juices.. in particular I'd like to start the ball rolling with some vanilla custard.. Now the problem I'm having is what recipe to follow!! Has anyone mixed up a variety of the forum's favoured custard flavours that give an honest opinion of how they compare? The two that seem to be most popular are Perpetua's pvc and OneDay's odvc, so how do these compare to the well known gvc? Many thanks in advance! Dan

There's a number of VC threads on the Board Dc . . . this is one: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/16133/vanilla-custard-recipes?page=1&scrollTo=311849I'd make up a small volume of both Oneday's and mine and see which you like . . . personally I have a bottle of both on the go to ring the custard changes. Letting them steep, 3-4 weeks with either is the secret to having a successful result. Having only tried Grant's the once with a sample someone kindly sent me, I'm no expert. Mine is certainly less sweet, but you can up the sweetener percentage quite easily.

It's easy enough to make both I find ODVC to a be a 'stronger' taste than PVC so I tend to vape that when my tastebuds need a kick and PVC the rest of the time. Greendollar's VCX is of a similar ilk (and yummy!) so it's worth mixing that too.

I can say that both ODVC & PVC are equally delish

Thankyou for your replies everyone Ok, so these are the recipes that I've found on the AAEC recipe thread, have any of them been improved upon or are they still current and correct? ODVC 54mg base 100%PG - target 18% 33% Nic base (10ml) 10% Capella Vanilla Custard (3ml) 5% Dulce de Leche(1.5ml) 5% Ethyl Malto(1.3ml) 15% Deluxe French Vanilla(4.5ml) 31.63% VG (9.49ml) PVC60 drops Capella Vanilla Custard 10 drops TPA French Vanilla Deluxe 2 drops sweetener 6/7ml Nic base So from what I can gather this is what I need; Capella Vanilla Custard TPA French Vanilla Deluxe Sweetener (which one do you use Perpetua?) TPA Dulce de Leche Ethyl Malto TPA Vanilla Custard Now a few questions if I may? I'm aiming for 18mg so what percentage of base should I use for the PVC? Do I use the same 54mg as recommended in OneDay's recipe? I've been doing some shopping around, and I've come across www.28vapeslater.com/Does this look like a good deal? DIY mixing kit Capella £20.9930ml PG Platinum Ice 54mg 100ml PG Diluent 100ml VG Diluent 2ml syringe 5ml syringe 10ml syringe 3ml graduated pipette 10ml & 30ml Empty dropper bottles 2 x Capella Flavourings (Vanilla custard & Ethyl Maltol) Flavours10ml TPA French Vanilla Deluxe £2.29 10ml TPA Dulce de Leche £2.29 Accessories1 x 10ml syringe £0.78 5 x 5ml 5ml syringe £2.28 1 x 2ml syringe £0.68 4 x 18 guage blunt needle £1.50 4 x 30ml empty bottles 1 x 100ml 54mg PG Platinum Ice Total £42.61 including 10% off and free delivery Would I need anything else on top of that little lot? It may seem that I'm jumping in with both feet, but I want to make this work!! Ps; Perpetua and OneDay.. If you wish to send me a small sampler of your fine liquids, I would be more than happy to oblige!!

Just use Rom's percentages on Ejuicemeup with whatever strength base you decide to go for Dc: I use TPA's or Flavourwest's sweetener, they're Sucralose based so a little stronger than Stevia for my taste buds.

I don't want to discourage anyone's creativity, but I just mix capella's VC at 20% and I like it just fine. GVC is too gloopy for me.

I think the French Vanilla Deluxe really makes a difference, it's a great vanilla if you're after that Bird's Custard type of taste

Well, this is a new mix for me so I wanted to see what it was like 'au natural' - and it's just lovely No harm in adding some vanilla, but I'm not sure it needs it. The custard comes through beautifully. Vaping it right now

My day to day vape is Health-e-vape Apple pie & custard, but I'm looking for a viable replacement with more of a VC kick when I run out.. (might be a while, have around 300ml at present!!) Prayers answered!!!

I'm using about 4-5ml a day at present of my current apple pie, so what I have is going to last at least 2 months... will that amount of steeping not cause any concerns?

Nah, most juices will last around 2 years - the steeping will just help it all mix and mingle and become an apple custard juice from heaven!
