A Mechnical Mod/Device Siffy . . . one that doesn't have any electronics, like your Spinner battery does. Thank you, so how does it power? Without batteries I mean, or am I bet to just google;) It's still got a battery but no fancy electronic so not much can go wrong with it ...... a bit like a torch

Without batteries I mean, or am I bet to just google;) You need separate batteries Siffy and a charger of course . . . long term any Mods can work out more cost effective as the hope is, the batteries will just need replacing rather than the device.

Completely agree that it's well worth having a mechanical mod. I've had my GGTS for about 3 years & used it every day since I got it. I've dropped it several times - including down a flight of concrete & even in the bath & it still works as well as the day I bought it

Like others have said siffy mech mods are very dependable as there are no electronics to go wrong and they will fire anything up, however low a resistance it is. The other thing about them is their aesthetic appeal. For your homework lol, why not check out some of Scott Bonner's reviews here: www.e-cig-reviews.com/performance%20e-cigs.htmlHe covers the unicorns of the mech mod world - currently the Chi-you and the Caravela, used to be the GGTS. There are also a few more obtainable ones there like the Dingo. Be warned though, if you get hooked on quality mech mods it can be very bad for your bank account!

Thanks for all the replies.
kibbster, I have heard about the differing build quality of evods, I think what I'll do is try to find a recommended vendor and give them a try.
Thanks all.
Pete.

I bought a few of the stainless evods from here about 4 months ago uberammerz and they're still working great, been washed loads of times, no fading on the chrome parts etc..still look brand new. (& they have the logo etching on them if that matters) www.ivapour-elixir.co.uk/evod.html

btw if you're using an ego style battery I'd recommend going for the 1.8ohm version..not so important if you have variable voltage but tbh, even if you do, I'd still go with the 1.8ohm coil-units.

siffy - it's basically a battery compartment with an on/off switch, no control over voltage like a Spinner/Twist, and no control over Variable Wattage like a Vamo &tc. Andy

I've dropped it several times - including down a flight of concrete & even in the bath & it still works as well as the day I bought it Thats the main benefit IMO, practically nothing to break and the only electrical bit is the battery so even a leaky atty or getting it soaking wet isn't a problem. Like my drawtube so much have just ordered this to keep it company ..... Bargain at about £15 delivered www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004497/1363300-kts-electronic-cigarette-battery-compartment

I think this is something that would suit me, especially as it isn't affected by leaks. That sounds great. Thanks too for the other replies.

siffy - it's basically a battery compartment with an on/off switch and some of them are a little pricey lol, I read somewhere that the Caravela can go for up to $1000.. 2nd hand It's a nice looking thing though.... I'm buying a Dingo or a Roller in the next few days, not in the same league as the Caravela but it's not cheap at about £80-100 I just can't resist any longer.

Good news on the Evod front I've just received my Ego adaptor so I can use Evod's on my Evic now! Only got one adaptor at the mo between two evod's but being able to use my Evic with aggression again is worth it on it's own
