Hello all, I'm having a bit of a problem that I hope someone may be able to help me with. The button on my Riva battery is sticking when I try to use it, so cannot get anything out of it. Once I can get it to go off it flashes and then goes off as if the battery needs charging but when I put it on charge it's showing as fully charged. Any ideas please. I have cleaned the battery with some gin and all seems ok there. Have raised the pin and changed the clearo but no joy. Thank you all

If the button is sticking, could you have got some juice on it? Try cleaning the button and around it with gin. BTW, I can think of better things to do with gin, that's why you can buy isypropyl alcohol (sp)

I have found that it's a build up around and behind the button and that's where you need to clean. I took my Riva apart and cleaned it with brake cleaner but now I just switch them off and flush them with that or alcohol. I guess you could use anything that evaporates cleanly. Ideally you would ignore me and get some real advice from a grown up

Soak a cotton bud with isoprop, and rub around the switch with very slight pressure, just enough to allow the isoprop to flow from the cotton bud and around the switch. Repeat several times, re-wetting the cotton bud each time. Then, stand the battery vertically on the connector end on said absorbent paper product and leave to drain/dry for 15 mins, giving it a quick shake a few times every 5 mins, should sort it ...and the smut patrol can bog off before they say anything
