Hi all,
Been lurking here for a while, and thanks to the advise on this forum ended up getting a riva 1100 (after a not very good experience with a jacvapour ecig).
Really happy with the Riva and have been using for almost 2 weeks (with not a single Rollie smoked since starting on the riva, which is pretty impressive for me according to my wife lol!)
I have found I much prefer the clearomiser to the cartomisers - easy and quick to fill and easy to see when needs filling!
So, I have been using the supplied clearomiser for close to 2 weeks now, and have noticed 2 things: 1. I am starting to get a "burnt" taste to the vapour 2. It may be just be me, but I feel that I need to suck harder to get the throat hit, almost like the clearomiser is partially blocked or something?
So, I realise that the clearomisers don't last forever, and was just wondering if it is time to replace the clearomiser?
Also, is there any maintenance like cleaning to keep the clearomiser in good shape and how long should a clearomiser last?
Lastly, if I have to get more clearomiser s, can you recommend any that last a long time and ideally hold more juice as I am having to fill several times a day.
i look forward to some helpful answers to stop me going back to stinkies!

Dazza! Yep, if you're going through severl fills a day and doing that for a couple of weeks, it's definitely time to replace the atty head/clearo! Not sure which kind you have (don't have a Riva), but you should be able to buy spare heads rather than a whole new clearo. Maintenance-wise, some say soaking in denture tabs, others a rinse and dry-burn. Eventually, though, you'll still need to replace the head. I still reckon the Evod is a safe bet. Holds 1.6ml I think. Otherwise you're into tank territory, so maybe something like a Vivi Nova or iClear 30 would suit you.

Yes its time to replace the clearomiser or if it's the type replace just the head. Giving them a good rinse out in warm water or a soak overnight with a denture cleaning tablet can help but I reckon an 2 weeks max out of a clearomiser is OK. Get some replacements then when you have your replacements have a look for a video on "dry burning" this will get your clearo back to 80% effectiveness for a week or so, but ONLY AFTER you've got a replacement, cos dry burning it could completely knacker it. Maybe someone will post a link on cleaning & dry burning? Oh and

Wow, that was quick - impressive!
Thought it might be time to replace, think I will give vape escape a call and see what they suggest as replacements!

If you like the clearomisers that came with it you might find you like the vivi nova or iclear. Both have the same set up, with easily replaceable heads and hold a lot of juice. Glad to hear your two weeks stinky free. Keep it up

dazza1304 - if you replace the heads, don't throw the old ones out. You can rewick them yourself very easily, even if you don't want to do it straight away. This works out VERY cheap

Hi Dazza
If you decide to re wick the one that came with the riva i think you ll find its a pressure fit and need to use pliers wrapped in a cloth to gently ease the bottom off.(rather than a screw fit)
Might not be but the kit i got from vape escape was a pressure fit with you tube being your friend for getting into it and re wicking as a couple of guides there.

Hello & welcome dazza1304 I'm fairly certain that the clearomiser you got with your kit isn't the type that you can replace the head.
