an MEP doesn't even have the skills to establish which are real and which are simply commercial lobbying? He does he is not getting any backdoor payment from our letters

Well, it's a sign that you're winning the argument when the opposition have to revert to slander and accusations of vested interest - they won't debate the facts about ecigs vs smoking because they know they can't win when they do!

they won't debate the facts about ecigs vs smoking because they know they can't win when they do! You are right, thats a really good point. The comment about e cigs re-normalising tobacco smoking, really bugs me. It is getting rid of ecigs that will normalise tobacco smoking, not the other way round, as there will be no alternative. I would like to see the normalising of a healthier alternative to tobacco smoking. Their comment about normalising tobacco smoking, is totally topsy turvy and applies more to their attempts to get rid of any sensible alternatives, than the other way around. That is what really normalises tobacco smoking...having no effective alternative.

Look at it this way, 2 days after the CEO release this 'report', vapers from all over Europe appear in Brussels. Couldn't have timed it better myself. The media will hopefully show the world that the CEO report is a pile of ****.

Oh Yes, and I have opened a thread about hitting the media outlets on twitter today too about the protest, we need as much press activity as we can muster for this.

vereybowring Great job you are doing for all vapers, only wish I was more PC savvy, being an `old git` not up to all this twitter and FB stuff. Hope all goes well for those `peeps` out in Brussels today. Happy vaping "Now & Future". jeffc

Hi,I am new to all this but feel compelled to add my tuppence worth.
I Pull focus backwards...look at the big picture and try to be cold and objective.
1: MEP's and all politicians are far removed from normal everyday life..they cannot be objective, too steeped in self interest,ego-ism,cash for questions etc.. and financial gain, sheltered lives where everything is clean and nice and everyone goes to uni..and they have never smoked or been out of work and have probably no technical training in any field at all so cant understand the argument even if they wanted to.
2: The gov are going to loose a pile of dough on taxes on Tobacco sales and will be very pissed cause they cant spend 16 billion on 6 rubbish nuclear subs,ammo,de-stabilizing the middle east etc...and blame the smokers, fatties and longer living oldies (more power to them and respect) on being a burden on the awesome NHS's purse.
3: Soooo,I think in the long game..they will let us "apparently win". What I mean is they will give in(false-ley) and say "oh yes,e cigs are cool and dont stink and kill people so go ahead, everything is legal".....but then they will tax the crap out of it and it will be as expensive as petrol or tobacco in hwich case we will go back to the smuggled tobacco and blah blah blahhhh u get the picture Im sure.
This is my fear.
