Hi there Perpy, yes, I only discovered the petition yesterday but was too late forwarding it. I tweeted it to Chris Packham (I almost NEVER tweet!) and he re-tweeted it I had felt so honoured and then I felt a fool (a more familiar feeling ). He had asked people to report a Facebook page that was glorifying killing foxes by various means, it had to be reported as Graphic Violence and Facebook wouldn't take it down, didn't meet criteria.

The target was 5000 sigs and they met it.

What I find amazing is that there was even a need for this in the first place - I would have thought it was an obvious thing to have.....

I`m all for freedom on the net, bringing issues to light and all that jazz, but there`s just some things that are wrong whichever way you look at it - some of the horrors you can see online are enough to warp your mind forever.

In essence I agree with you Kaaru, although for some of the Animal Charities it's the only way to get the message across, of the absolutely horrific acts of abuse and torture in some cases that are inflicted on those that can't speak up for themselves. Facebook is a medium for getting this message across and fund raising.

It's the glorification of any brutality that none of us want to see, anywhere.

I`d like to know their official reasoning why it wasn`t an option already...these sites need to be more proactive when it comes to things like this, they`re quite happy data mining 'us' for all that we`re worth, they need to step up to the plate.

The internet can be such a festering cesspit at times, just like the real world...it`s shameful. Then again if it wasn`t for the humans making it that way.....

Hello everyone! Not bad, it's only taken me one month to the day to post again. I shall take care not to post any more expired petitions, that was embarrassing (can't see a blusher among the smilies, Chrissie, that shows you weren't expecting me back ). I had sent it to Chris Packham only a few hours earlier.
