So i've been to see my GP re - the excessive sweating & she says its because i'm borderline Diabetic & this happens in the run up to being diagnosed with Diabetes, i never even gave that a thought, also shes reduced the propanol to half what i was on to see if that helps, so i'll see how i go on from here.

Glad to hear you got sorted out dinamic *cheer*All prescription drugs can have side effects, some very serious and potentially life threatening. For the past year I was suffering leg cramps with gradually increasing severity and regularity usually when sleeping. It got so bad that I was wakening up 3 - 4 times a night and getting next to no sleep. I put it down to my age (62) as leg cramps are apparently quite common with us oldies. However it got so bad that I eventually visited the Doc who immediately looked at my records and pointed out that I had been put on Symbistatin for high cholesterol about 18 months ago. He stated that leg cramps are a common side effect of this drug and that it can lead to a life threatening condition the name of which I forget. He advised me to stop the Symbistatin immediately. That was 3 months ago and I have not had a leg cramp since. My advice would be to always read the leaflet that comes with any new prescribed drug and report any unusual side effect that you might encounter.

Thanks for your reply freefromsmoking, i always read up on prescription drugs i have a book that i used for checking side effects, but now with the internet i use that to check, the propanolol i have commented about are supposed to stop excessive sweating thats caused with anxiety but i am on them for raised b/p & migraine. Sorry to hear you had probs with your medication at least another doc realised something was wrong.
