Got a summons through the post today, to state I am being prosecuted for speeding (36 in a 30 zone). Did one of them courses rather than a fine & points a year ago, so it looks like a fine & points this time............Only insured my new car 2 days ago........I try & be so careful, but I suppose it happens........

Apparently it was for 2 weeks ago..........It was for my old car, which unfortunately won't be out of my name till the end of the week...........Him upstairs don't like me.............

A summons for 6 miles over the speed limit, bit silly and a waste of money. Why not just the points and fine!

No wonder the police have too much paperwork.

I got the exact same thing come through for me last week. 37 in a 30 zone. They make me sick. Was on a down slope of a hill too which makes it extremely easy to miscalculate and go just a tad over.
It all has nothing to do with safety, just daylight robbery as far as I am concerned. It used to be you got up to 10mph over the limit to allow of discrepancies in speedometers etc. not any more now they are all short of coffers.

Yeah.........OK, if they say I did it, then I did it, but I think it's still a bit harsh............apart from the last speeding fine, my license & insurance has been blemish free for 40 years...........

10% it used to be Dolly, I think,  33,44,55,66 etc, with the police able to add another 2% to allow for their equipment and to ensure you were deffo over the limit!!!  Still robbin barstewards though.

Up here, you have to sit in a room for 4 hours & listen to the dangers of speeding & watch a few videos & slides.

My sister did it in Stevenage (or there abouts), and she had to drive on an airfield, go into the classroom & learn a bit, then go back to the airfield to show she'd improved.

She also haad to paay nearly twice what I did.

Mine was £63.46 (or something), which compared to a £60 fine & 3 points, it was a no brainer.

I still believe it's 10% + 2mph allowable for equipment and vehicle discrepancies. Which puts Chris at 1mph outside, Agree its all about money though,  My tomtom has saved my licence many times over with its camera alerts.

Pointless crying over spilt milk really, unless you have maxxed your 12 points, keep your nose clean for 3 years and happy days, if the fine will trouble you im positive they give you time to pay.

No, you don't need all this crap on top of everything else.

As for me, I will opt for the course and turn up in my wheelchair hoping I can't access the classroom
