I guess once you have settled on a liquid you like, that becomes pretty easy with staggering your mixing. Hard when just starting out! Might have to get a months supply of something else in for the time being. Really hoping it's something I like vaping so I can just start producing. I love a bit of custard though so fingers crossed lol

It does, once you get into a mixing routine, particularly for flavours like Custard that are so much nicer given a good steeping. But agreed, easier said than done when you're just getting your mix on. I've tried a few ready made custards recently, just out of curiousity and the 2 I've enjoyed the most have been: Vaping Kings Custard Creams - www.vapingking.co.uk/custard-creamsChefs ABC which I thought was lovely - www.chefsvapour.co.uk/ABC/p1901058_9716057.aspxAlthough I also gave both 4-6weeks before I tried them.

Hey Guys, I'm looking to get into mixing again after having a first failed go at it about a year ago... Ive been around the block and have vaped many many things but never really found anything I enjoyed quite as much as GVC. I have ordered this... www.thealchemistscupboard.co.uk/product/gold%20diy%20mixing%20kitwith: CAP vanilla custard CAP french vanilla 10ml Ethyl Maltol I am hoping i can get a half decent VC flavour by going on their 'PVC' recipe: Perpetua’s Vanilla Custard (PVC) To make (aprox) 10ml:- Add 2.0ml of Capella Vanilla Custard, 0.5ml of French Vanilla, 2 drops of sweetener, to 7.5ml of your preferred VG/PG/Nic mix. I am hoping that the result is ok with the stuff I have already ordered... My question is that do you think that those ingredients and that recipe will produce a decent liquid? Or should I just bite the bullet and use some other ingredients and save the nic for a better quality mix? I have about a months supply of ready made ejuice so I'm itching to get a first batch done and get it on the steep! Many Thanks Tom

Hi Tom, you should get an ok Custard with that, but I would look at getting something like Perfumers Apprentice Sweetener instead of Ethyl Maltol. I find EM to be good if you want to get a candy type sweetness, but not really interchangeable with TPAs Someone posted a GVC clone recipe a while ago, can't for the life of me remember who, but I saved the recipe, it is... CAP Vanilla Custard 15% Dulce de Leche 2% French Vanilla Deluxe 2% I've made a bottle, but it's still steeping, so can't comment as yet. Although I've never tried GVC either. If and when you are going to order any more concentrates, I would recommend the Custardy Lovechild recipe, it's beautiful

Thanks lairey, much appreciated. Now ordered vanillin powder from leisureliquids & ordered TPA french vanilla deluxe & TPA sweetener from liberty. May as well start with the CLC. Now to find out how to mix this vanillin powder with some pg - reading forum time! Edit: I just wanted to add that I emailed Kev last night and he has agreed to swap the CAP french vanilla for a CAP chocolate fudge brownie - you cannot beat getting great service from a tried and trusted vendor! THANKS Frogster (The Alchemist)

I couldn't hold out a minute longer. I've tried just enough to cover the wicks...oh wow. This is going to be gorgeous when properly steeped. I'm off to make shedloads more now..

Has anyone found that the Capella VC is just not the same as it used to be?
I know that we get accustomed to it and lose the " taste" if vaping constantly, but I have always ordered what I considered the "original Capella VC not the V2 and it just does not seem the same.
When I make an effort to put VC to one side for a few days and vape something else, it is lovely when I go back to it, but not as good as I remember it.
IS IT JUST ME?

Can't say I've noticed gillas . . . but I do regularly have a good few weeks break from just a plain VC mix, as it helps to keep the taste ' fresh ' for me anyway. Perhaps there's also an element of the memory playing a small trick? The first VC I ever mixed ( TPA's ) 3+ years ago now, nothing else added - I thought was the most lush thing ever! I doubt I'd think that now no matter how enjoyable, my taste buds have been spoilt by the custardy choices we've got. That's my thinking anyhow.

No you and me are the same since they have changed to version 2 it ain't the same, they did away with an additive that supposedly causes popcorn lung.

No you and me are the same since they have changed to version 2 it ain't the same, they did away with an additive that supposedly causes popcorn lung. gillas is using the V1 though watsy . . . . still readily available and used by the vast majority of vapers who enjoy a custard and other dessert vapes. V2 was never going to taste like the original flavouring without Acetoin (not a Diketone) & Acetylpropionyl as they give many flavours a creamy taste and it's long term prolonged exposure to Diacetyl that causes Popcorn Lung. So if you want to improve your Custard vape, go back to the original. Acetoin & Acetylpropionyl are present in minute quantities in these flavours, diluted to even more miniscule concentrations when mixed, personally I have no issues using them.
