At one point I had 11. 2 MK 1's 510 and 901 and 9 MK11's. I converted some for 510 and 1 for a 801. Had a big sell out a few months back, now I have my original MK11 the wife bought me, a gold plated MK11, the 801 which I dropped out of my truck and needs repairing and a 510 top cap to use with a couple of sleeves I made.

I still have two SD Mk2's, one black and one silver, both are still used pretty regularly. The black one may have to go back to Matt for a visit to have the 901 connection replaced (maybe with a 510, if that is possible) before too much longer as it intermittently fails to operate and the same thing proved necessary for someone else I know - his too went through an irritating intermittent phase before ceasing to function completely. In fairness the black one has seen more use than the silver as I simply prefer the look of it. I've been doing battle with eGo Tank kit recently - sometimes successfully, sometimes less so but will quite probably be back to using the SDs with a variable assortment of atties and cartos again before too very much longer. I rather like Perpetua's analogy of the SD being the Little Black Dress equivalent in e-cig terms - current issues aside, for the most part "they just simply work" . I suspect I will probably return to them time after time once I've got over whichever new toy has temporarily distracted me. Once armed with a suitable collection of adapters they will work with pretty much anything you care to throw at them and this still has much to be said for it. I also possess a GGTB which I nabbed second-hand and periodically agonise over whether I should liberate this to someone who might treasure it more than I do. I still occasionally use it but find it's weight and resemblance to a pipe-bomb a bit of a discouragement to taking it out with me...! I wouldn't care to be pulled over by the bizzies while driving with it, let's put it that way. I don't feel any similar concern about the SD's though, as you can in fact be quite subtle about vaping with one as it can be so cosily enclosed within your fist. The button operation becomes quite natural after a short while although it did feel odd at first. The dangling button cover still sometimes annoys, but I wouldn't want to be without it, after all. (Apologies for being late to the party, ...as usual!! )

Bought two in the B.O.G.F. Gave one away, unused. Never could get the hang of the remaining one and gave that away eventually. I liked the feel, and the concept, but just never managed to 'vape' with it...

It does seem that the dear old SD is a bit like Marmite (yum!) to a lot of folks I happen to get on really well with the button placement. Correct me if I'm wrong-I think the end button placement is pretty unusual on a vapey device?

I hate to correct you Beepsie, but there's quite a few bottom button activated devices . . . the Super T range, Mako, Megladon & Pure Smoker range are just a few that I can think of . . .

Tetsab re your intermittent SD problem, try checking the spring on the switch end, if the spring gets 'stuck' it won't work. Took me ages to find out this is what was wrong with mine, teased the spring out and hey presto, perfect working SD

Thanks for the tip, Dee - regrettably doesn't seem to be anything amiss with the spring, it sproings beautifully. Still worth checking though so advice appreciated. I've given it a little stretch and turned it over anyway on the 'can't hurt' principle. It mostly works just fine, but occasionally fails to 'fire'. When my friend's one packed up we checked the continuity with a multimeter and established there was no longer a pathway from inside through the 901 connector before booking it a trip up to Trogland. I will do the same with this one if it stops altogether. I think Beeper's right - and I also like Marmite as well as SD's. Perhaps we should get the Prof to add another box in the poll for "Do you STILL have at least one SD and do you also like Marmite?" as well!! This could be deeply significant... or not...

My original one failed from the atty end. I returned it and was sent a new one with no problem at all
