As long as the cotton isn't blocking the juice channel then there's bugga all wrong with that set up The popping is just the juice spitting from the coil, nothing to be concerned with. That bit confuses me blakey ....I left the juice channel holes clear (so i could see them when i looked inside) on the first build that flooded, when I covered them over with cotton on the next one it didnt flood yeppers that happened to me what they mean by not blocking the juice channels is ramming cotton down them i thinks ive tried most wicking setups but the cut it off above the chimney and ram it in seems to work best(i have also drilled out my air hole on the mk 1 light )

Ive drilled out the air hole on mine as well, makes it so much better although I gotta admit though I think the rsst atty I had off fred is better & easier to build than a kayfun....so much so im looking for another mesh wick atty now...(thinking about a Kraken Genesis clone)

I wick my Kf`s both ways markus . Sometimes poking it down the chimney sometimes up against the deck wall and apart from a very occasional tiny dribble from the air hole once in a blue moon I don`t get leaks . One of my kayfuns Ive doubled the wick channels size and always wick that against the wall well clear of the juice channels and that doesn`t leak ether. Most leaks are caused by your chimney or tank sections not being screwed tight and sealed right .

Top filling can also cause mega leaky issues - it releases all of the vacuum pressure you have and also can loosen the chimney as cousin itt says - causes leaky leaky.
I've found being sparing with wick has gotten me better results.
I'm a wick against the wall guy away from juice channels.

Thanks everyone that participated in this thread, spent the afternoon reading through and following and watching the links. Got my fasttech kayfun lite plus v2 going first time last night and wow , I now understand what all the fuss is about. Luckily had some 12mg custard I bought by accident and it feels like the 20mg I use for work. Did not want to put it down
