fred my test results on the spinner. Using my brand new charger 1 it didn't act as it was supposed to at all. I put my spinner on charger 1, the usb went red. After 20 minutes the battery flashed a couple of times and usb went green indicating fully charged, but not what is supposed to happen according to maccafan . I then put battery straight onto charger 2. Usb went red and stayed red for 1 hour 10 minutes, the battery then flashed lots of times and the light on the battery went out but the usb stayed red. After another 45 minutes the usb turned green. so an extra 1 hour 55 minutes on charger 2 with all the correct flashing taking place on charger 2. I will test again with a pretty depleted ego battery tomorrow evening.

I really do think you're over thinking things sammy13 . I have a charger that I use mainly for my 18650 mod batteries, it tells me they are fully charged and says on the charger display that they are charged to 4.2. When I then put the batteries in a mod and check the charge the batteries show 4.1. There will always be slight discrepancies, the main thing is that your batteries are working well and they don't sound like they are at all faulty, even so, don't risk charging overnight when you're not around. Always best to er on the side of caution My batteries are working as they have been charged on the one charger, it is the new charger that I only tested today that is causing the problems.

Thanks for the welcome. As a side effect of my hobby of rc cars planes and helicopters I've got some decent electrical analysis gear and a few high quality chargers. Once I can rig up some adapter cables etc I'll measure what I can and report back. My instinct is tho that these are cheapo Chinese electrics with a high tolerance on components so a variation is likely with charging cut offs. Will see if I can back this up with numbers in a few days. Cheers Richie

Oh good so at least you know it's the charger, and not the batteries.

fred have you ever sat and watched a battery waiting for it to flash DiscoDes the usb charger says - input - DC5v output - DC 4.2 v - 420mA What does the sticker on the other one say? Or do you only have one lead?

As richieh said, like I did before, & also i think Karma, your chargers have slightly different cut-off points. I've no experience with spinners or twists, and different brands of ego batteries act slightly differently I don't think there is a problem with either charger though. As I said before (& I think DiscoDes also said) charge a battery with charger 1. See how long it lasts. Charge the same battery with charger 2. See how long it lasts. Use the charger that makes the battery last longest & if you only have 2 batteries, get a spare - paradise vape blister pack is excellent value - I'm using mine now, while I wait for all my other batteries to charge. & yes, I have sat waiting for the battery to flash - several times. In fact, I'm waiting on 2 Riva 1100's as I type (As well as waiting for 4 18350's to charge in my nitcore i4 charger) Maybe you need a mod, & a pack of batteries? My mini-lavatube is the same length as my Riva 1100s, but its VV Don't worry - all's good - maybe one of your chargers is slightly better than the other.
Roughly how long do you get from a charge on either charger?

Cheers Richie This my conclusion too, though expressed differently richieh you can also get USB leads that only give 150 mA or something between 150 mA and 500 mA charge current before it switches to trickle, with some of the Ego or Twist type batteries being 1300 mAh if it was one of the lower ones it may take quite some time to charge!

I'm no expert here - but when I charge my spinner and the charger makes a proper connection (which currently takes about 3 attempts and a spot of cleaning), the red light on the connector goes on from being green when nothing is connected and the light on the battery flashes and then stays on for a few hours, then eventually the light goes off but the indicator light stays red for about another 45 mins and then goes green indicating fully charged. Whole process takes about 3 hours to charge 900mph spinner that is almost fully depleted.
It sounds like charger 2 is doing this fine and charger 1 isn't - my conclusion therefore is charger 1 sounds faulty - particularly if its the new one...

An update on my results. On charger 2 ( my old charger ) all the correct flashing took place, my battery was fully charged and lasted 11 hours.
On charger 1 ( my brand new charger ) the usb went green, I removed my battery, went to use it and it lasted about 2 seconds. In other words charger 1 was not putting any charge into my battery at all, none, diddly squat.
I knew something was faulty.
