Guys ... Need some advice.... My 1300 ma spinner has stopped working ... I think the problem has been juice leaking from a faulty clearo gunging up the inside of the battery ... The contact keeps getting stuck down inside and when I lift it it only works for a minute then stops again ..... I feel like I need to somehow take it apart and give it a clear up .... Any suggestions?

I would advice against taking it apart spikus. Best bet would be to leave it upside down over a radiator to let any juice seep out and dry up then try once dry try lifting the pin again. If there is juice around the pin then it will easily just slip back down. Hopefully some other people will have some other ideas.

Cotton buds and isopropyl to clean it and try turn the connection screw/pin on your atties half a turn anti clockwise, it may just be summink simple like a poor connection.

Thanks Rosco... I think the problem is is that it has already dried out and full of hard gunk.... Can I take the centre pin out completely ??? Or will that break it for sure ?

Siffy managed to but i think that was blind luck. The wires under the pin have a habit of breaking when you pull the pin out making the battery useless unless your a dab hand at soldering. Hi I d do as Rosco suggests but also dabbing round the centre pin with a cotton wool bud with a tiny bit of alchohol and see if it cleans up in a day or so(there will be a wire directly attached to the centre pin so id avoid removing for now)

Soak it in isopryl alcohol which will not damage the electronics (get it from a pharmacy) for a few minutes giving it a swish round in the alcohol. Shake out the excess and try that.

spikus Maccafan used to help out fixing dead batteries & such but I think he's pretty busy these days . . . if a gently clean with IPA doesn't work & you think it's totally FUBAR I'd be tempted to give it a good soaking in an IPA bath or 2 then leave it to dry upside down for a couple of days minimum, the wires to the connector are really fine & it wouldn't take a great deal to gunk them up, not to mention if juice has got into the PCB Doh Des got there before me, but hey great minds

Keeps happening to me . I soak a cotton bud in gin and give it a good clean and let a bit of the gin drip down. what a waste I hear you say. I then give it a good shake out and leave it to dry upside down . I then pray a lot and it's always worked. I then get a cocktail stick and dip it in the gin and clean around the centre pin. When it's dry just lift the centre pin very slightly. Give it a go, you've nothing to lose.
