Homemade juices - Evaporated

I mixed up some juices 7/10 days ago and left them to steep on a cool/dark shelf with the drippers and caps removed

Have gone back to them tonight and each bottle is now only half full!!

They are sitting next to vendor bought juices, that have been sitting there for the same amount of time, that are still full to the brim!

Any explanations?

If it helps the base i used was a premixed 18mg nic 50%pg/50%vg that i purchased ready mixed from a vendor.

Haven't experienced that myself, but I always leave the caps on the bottles............

I only take them off to help aid the steeping process, as others have suggested.

Usually put them back on every now and again and give them a good shake and then leave them with the lids off again.

Done the same with many vendor bought juices and it's never happened!

Perhaps it's a sign to keep buying vendor juices

Everything i have mixed so far has tasted pretty rough, so far

Hopeful on a couple of new flavourings i have bought though. As they may not need too much interference from me

Just guessing but is it possible your base liquid contained quite a lot of water?

thick vg thinned with vodka by any chance ?

Think perhaps i should start mixing my own base liquid

Evaporation - hmm, I wonder if the content had a bit too much water in some form. None of the other ingredients could possibly disappear to that extent AFAIK.
I leave the caps off my juices to steep, and have never experienced this before - the thot plickens!

Well out of all the gallons I've mixed Rich, I've never ever had this happen . . . if anything I find with some flavours there can be a little expansion.

The warm temperatures, high water/vodka content and tops off sound like they could be the cause. I also always leave the stoppers in on any steeping bottles.

All my bought in and home made juices are subjected to automated steeping with the tops off for varying lengths of time and I have never had any volume loss.

A slight drop off in taste if I leave them in for too long but that's it.

Sounds like alcohol and/or water to me.

What brand liquids are they?
