Hi all, as the title suggest I'm posting in here which I hope is the right place just to say a quick hello and introduce myself.
I'm a total newbie to vaping, I'm 41 and been smoking around 25 years, alot of those 25 years I've been on the roll ups. Anyway I bought my bit of kit a couple of days ago and I haven't touched a cig in those two days and fingers crossed long may that continue.
I'm not clued up on the terminology so please forgive me if it appears I post in ignorance. I'm not sure what type of kit I have I just went in a new shop in my area and listened to the sales person and bought what she recommended. All I can say is it has a battery a clear plastic bit for my juices with a wick inside and a mouth piece which all break down, displaying my ignorance already haha. I do know I got a 900mAh battery with a multi power setting but thats about it. Anyways I'm sure this place will provide a wealth of information and I look forward to a good nosey around.
Jay

Hi JayJ, and welcome to the forum. Sounds like the kit is doing it for you - could you send us a link to the shop, or perhaps a couple of photos so that we can help you get the best from your gear? What juice are you on, and at what strength? Just being nosey!! Anyway, welcome and please ask if you have any questions! BTW the clear plastic bit is called a Clearomiser (clearo), and the wick and atomiser is the atty head. There you go, two bits of lingo for you already!! Andy

Welcome to AAEC Jay The clear plastic thingy is called a "clearomiser" but terminology or fancy hardware isn't really that important. What is important is that you've finally discovered an exciting alternative to tobacco, and quite frankly you should congratulate yourself, we'll done!!

Hello & welcome JayJ It sounds to me like you have an ego type battery & clearomiser Please don't worry about not knowing what things are, just ask questions (no matter how daft they may seem) & we will help you to get to know everything you need to know

Hi Jayj & it sounds like you have variable voltage does it turn up/down on the tip? if it is v v you have done well for your first buy it should last you all day at 900mAh but if you mean to do this properly you will need another battery & clearo (tank for the liquid) so you have 1 batt to use while the other is charging or if anything goes wrong also its advised not to leave them charging overnight or when you go out. What juice & strength are you using? You will get plenty of help & advice here, don't be afraid to ask questions even if you think they are silly as the daftest question is the one you don't ask. Replies may be a bit slow this weekend as its the annual vapefest in Tamworth & many members have gone there, you will still get replies but will get more from Monday onwards, have a good look around particularly in the new members board as there are numerous tips in there to help in your vaping journey, also theres a list of vendors board & discount codes for anything else you may need. Good luck!

Hi Andy thank you for the welcome. The shop has a website but it appears to be "undergoing maintainence" They have a facebook though for which the site has a link. I flipping hate facebook though so haven't visited that lol. I'll try and post some pics of my kit up in a while.
The juice I'm using is the shops own by the looks of it. Probably imported and rebranded. I've noticed a particular vendor on here who I've noticed elsewhere so I'll be placing an order there soon I imagine. The strength I'm using is 24/high and a 25%vg 70%pg mix in vanilla and a green mint flavour.

OOps more replies while I was typing my last post. Thanks for the welcome peeps Re the variable voltage, yes it's adjustable through amount of clicks. Yes I'm also inclined to agree I'm definately going to need another battery and a clearo, even if it's a non variable battery just to tide me over while charging.

Welcome to the forum Jayj. Great decision to start vaping instead of smoking, long may it continue for you.

For some really yummy juices, try The Alchemist's Cupboard - Kev (Frogster) is a forum member and their juices are great. There are many other vendors too, have a look through The Vendors Board - this thread also contains discount codes especially for forum members, typically 10% off the total order before shipping. Hope this helps! Oops, sorry Karma, crossed posts!

Hello & welcome to the forum, Jay. Sounds like you've made a great start, with at least one other battery (another clearo would be handy too), so one is always charged, raring to go & that's the end of cigs & you're on your merry vaping way.

JayJDon't worry too much about the terminology for the moment - you'll pick it up sharpish. For now as long as you put the wotzit on the thingummybob, press the button and get vapour out of the doo-dah, you're doing well. Just don't break the clack-return-spring You definitely need another thingummybob (battery), and probably another wotzit (which Andy pointed out is a clearo), & if you throw a backup charger into the mix, you come up with this for £7 + p&p - it's a good cheap little set-up - I'm vaping homebrew blueberry on mine as I type. Another thing you need to know, rather than learn the hard way - have backups, and backups for your backups

Hiya JayJ mate! I'm in the exact same boat as you, best of luck and don't be afraid to try flavours you wouldn't normally appeal to.
