frilly do you clean them when they start tasting burnt, the heads probably require dry burning, this burns all the carbon off of the coil and takes it back to being like new.

And looking at those pics, they all seem to have quite thick dark juice in them, so I suspect that is the problem.

Are they top or bottom coil clero - top coil ones will dry out quickly with chain vaping and you will need to try and keep them tilted up. If the coils are constantly dry burning as you describe then that will discharge the battery faster and the coils drop resistance a touch with high temperatures. Also if you get the voltage too low and don't recharge asap you will shorten the life considerably. Top or bottom coil....hmmm....well, yes. Very probably. I have several - they all look the same from the outside but the central thingummy inside looks different on some In other words, I don't have the foggiest, though I recall something about 'rebuildable or replaceable' being mentioned when I bought (some of) them. Despite my total ignorance, I AM willing to learn. It sounds like replacing the coil/head/wicky-thing will save me some money, but I'm more interested in vaping the thing than pulling it apart and playing with it.... Hi frilly & welcome.....You'll see the difference between a top or bottom coil, by where the wick is.......If it's hanging down from the top of the clearomiser, it's a top coil.........If the wick is near the bottom of the clearo, it's a bottom coil.....hope that explains it a bit better for you......you'll get a lot of help & advice from us all here & hopefully it will kick start your interest........good luck * while I was happily banging away on the keyboard with my post, you put those pics up....... The ones in the pic are top coil

I'm also wondering if you are allowing the e-liquid level to get too low by looking at those pics?

Hi! I am going to do my normal thing and just come out with it. You've done cig-a-likes. You've done JacV. Same as me. You've now got 4 top coil CE clearos. I gave up on those in less than 2-3 weeks. The rebuild ones are better, but I got through the heads at a stupid speed and never really worked out why. They don't like chain vaping. They don't wick that well. The draw is naff. I really don't rate then. Time to rethink . I will help more when I get home (2 days) and can assure you, not everything is always bad. Bad luck, the folks on here will sort you out with better and more reliable stuff.

If the juice is low you need to swish or swoosh lol (keep the wicks wet) that's why bottom coil atomisers are better, the wick is always wet.

Wow - this is all really useful info - wish I'd found this site months ago! Thanks for the non-tech explanation of top and bottom coils I don't usually have so little juice in, though I've noticed if I fill them more than half full they have a tendency to leak. Also, I usually stand my device upright so that's probably not helping - I'll keep it lying down in future and do the swooshy thing I look forward to suggestions for a more serious system I could move onto - I'm prepared to buy a whole new kit ... (Came back from holiday last Saturday to find I had been burgled - all my wordly goods gone so I think I need a treat.)

This is an excellent kit at a really good price right now . . . . myepack.co.uk/evod-starter-kit.html

Oh no I am sorry to hear you were burgled. Laying them down may not be so good, as it may make them leak, I tend to lean them at an angle.

Hi and welcome,,, I use the same Clearo's as you have there, looks like CE4 &CE5 , I cant say I've had much trouble with them,,I have had a few leaking problems,, but as I found that when the mouth piece is unscrewed, it CAN unscrew the inside part which holds the coil and wick.. I then had to unscrew the bottem (when empty) and tighten everything back up where the wick and coil is, (top bit under the plastic where the center hole is.) plus I did have one come unscrewed at the bottem of the inside part. I just tightened everything back up. it seamed to do the trick. Mine have been working well for over a month. abit of jucie on the battery but nothing that would stop it from working..

I would say give evods a try, that's what I moved onto after ce4's and its what I've stuck to the past few months. The heads unscrew easily and can be washed in running warm/hot water. The heads last me about 2 weeks but I only vape 1 kind of juice. You can get replacement heads quite cheaply too. As suggested before the spinner battery is good too, another I moved onto from the starter battery lol.

Hi Frilly, firstly sorry to hear about your break in. I moved from top to bottom coils because when I started vaping I had similar problems to you. Evods are great and so are the Kanger Protanks( they do a mini one witch looks ok on ego type batteries

A note about chain vaping, if you find that you are vaping to the point of Drying the wick and getting a burnt taste then there are a number of options. 1) get a better atomiser that can wick better. 2) use a thinner juice, ie more pg content. 3) use a higher nic level, so that you don't feel the need to vape so much 4) have a number of devices setup around you and keep swapping them round. There are probably lots of other things you can do, you don't need to suffer burning coils Now that we don't smoke there is no need to keep punishing ourselves.
