Nic base question

Does all nic base smell really strong before it's cut and mixed with flavourings ? Or is it a sign of poor quality ?

I have 72mg nic and I'm worried even when I mix it to 18mg it's going to overpower my liquids ?

Errr, "nicotine" in itself is odorless...
The bases that I have with nicotine in it smell "pleasantly sweet"

So if yours smells rank or anything like that, I would further investigate

I ve bought a few seperate batches now of 72 mg and would be hard pressed to say i can smell much from it(pg but nothing more)

I d be very reluctand/would nt use it if it smells strong

My 54mg doesn't have much smell at all, just a slightly sweet aroma but mine is in vg.

OK thanks guys, will see how it tastes when I get around to mixing it but it does smell very peppery/tobacco-y

Anyone want a 10ml sample to smell/test/mix ? as I doubt I'll get around to mixing for a few weeks yet

Btw I wasn't intending any offence or to imply that testdruif and rich64 are not experienced mixers. They may well be.

Did you by any chance order a "dirty" base? There are some vendors who offer e-liquid base with already a "tabacco/ashtray flavoring added" like

Please be careful...Nicotine is an inhalation hazard....However, Like a fool, I just took a small wiff of 100mg nic in 100% pg and did not smell a thing.....Again, Please be careful.

I've never noticed any smell other than a ' sweetness ' Balllsy . . . but then I also use VG base, but I still didn't notice anything when I used PG.

Promethian said exactly the same thing about a PG base he bought a couple of weeks ago.

 I've tagged him as he's probably mixed it by now and is using it.

His was from Nicvape if I remember correctly.

Balllsy just had a check of my 72mg PG and same results as what Perpetua said above, pretty much odorless, i got mine from 28vapeslater when they was selling it.

Ain't used any yet as i am using up my 54mg PG

Balllsy I've had a sniff of mine, no real strong smell at all. 3 different ones as well all 100% PG

52mg from cig-eliquid, pale yellow
50mg from Nic Vape, pale yellow
72mg from Pirates Vape, slightly darker colour.

Where did you get it? and could, as suggested earlier it be a 'dirty base'. I would make up a small amount, possibly unflavoured and see how it turns out. I would be happy to check it for you if you want.

I hope your working in a well ventilated area, 72mg is very strong, sniffing the fumes is not really advisable.
