Jules posted about this but it's worth its own thread. The daily fail have nicked an article from the french magazine '60M consumers', published by the French Institute for Consumer Affairs (a better translation than what the DF printed). The original piece shows no evidence whatsoever for its claims and has been rightly condemned by its french readership. Claims that ecigs contain 1)formaldehyde and 2)acrolein may be true but as 1) formaldehyde exists in the human body naturally and in the air we breathe and food we eat (like nicotine) nobody else has been able to measure what come out of an ecig. 2) acrolein is a product of heating fats, oils or glycol and can be easily extracted by burning your chip oil! I can only imagine that whoever did this research tested the ecigs to destruction by dry burning without a battery cut off to obtain the results they wanted

Oh, according to the Fail everything causes cancer. So if vaping doesn't kill us off, there's about 20,000,000 other things in the queue.
Nothing to do with the fact that we're living longer lives and age is a massive factor for certain cancers, or that large scale public awareness campaigns mean more people self-check and go to the doctor with suspicious symptoms thus increasing the rate of diagnosis and early diagnosis, meaning, ironically, that someone could survive cancer, live healthily for many more years, and get it a second time?
Nah, don't be silly!

" Believing our stories may result in readers becoming seriously ill and in some cases will prove fatal. We reckon to have done for thousands of our readers by misleading them about ecigs alone. We don't care"
